<< 2) COPY OF RECEIPT >>
Need4Speed: Ok.. What do they want a copy of? The rebate receipt or the sales receipt? The UPC and rebate form are a given here. The question is whether they will accept a rebate receipt in place of a copy of the original sales receipt.
When a BB CSR from the rebate 800# tells me that I may be denied if I send in a rebate receipt instead of a copy of the original sales receipt because some manufacturers don't accept a rebate receipt, that is cause for concern IMO. Especially when you are dealing with $100 in rebates.
Now.. It's perfectly obvious to me that if you copy the price match receipt, it's going to show the original purchase date on it and that's no good. When I originally PM instead of return/repurchase, I got a rebate receipt with the correct date on it. That should be fine if you send that rebate receipt in, but if BB emails you later and says that the rebate receipt is not good enough and needs to see a copy of the original receipt, you'd be screwed in that instance.
My problem is that if I do send in a copy of the sales receipt and not the rebate receipt, it will show my name on it because I purchased it with a credit card. That's not a problem, but the fact that I got two hdd's and want the MIR for both might be a problem, so I'm going back today, returning it again and then rebuying with cash. I'll just tell them that I'm close to my limit on this low rate card and need to make a couple of purchases i the next week online. Should be no biggie. I certainly don't mind going back to Best Buy again if it means that it will insure that I get the $150 in MIR's
Don't you understand the confusion?
