Confession: For the first time I will be voting for a Democrat in governor race

I have been a middle of the road voter for a long time (how many times have you guys accused me of #bothsides?). I have typically voted both sides of the ticket in every election. With that said, for governor races I typically vote GOP for various reasons. Not this year. We all have our top 3 issues we vote on (gun rights, abortion, whatever) but this year I have vowed to not vote for anyone who supports the claim Trump lost 2020 because the election was stolen. That is my hot button this year.

I dont agree with everything the D rep Katie Hobbs agenda, but Kari Lake (R) has aligned herself with the Stop The Steal movement, and has been quoted as saying if she loses in November, it would be due to rigged elections or voter fraud. FUCK THAT. That is my hot button. I vow not to vote for any candidate that is in this mindset.

Dont get me wrong. There are IMHO some good R candidates for local races, but for the most part they havent been swept up in this madness.

I know we have had disagreements, but it takes some courage to stand up. Now try and convince others that live in your state to do the same. That's where the real work is. The number of election deniers on ballots this fall is spooky. We're in perilous territory right now.

Thanks for that. I'm sure you'll get some criticism, but it's important to recognize when someone changes their vote based on good principles.

I'll ask you to consider more Dem votes down the ticket. Not just because some Republicans are just as off-the-rails as Lake, but because the current GOP strategy to rig elections is partly built on winning state and municipal contests that let them disenfranchise more voters.

I’m glad your red line is election denial. Hopefully you hold that standard for all your votes because these next few elections are pretty black and white, even more so compared to 2016.

I’m glad to see you say this. If candidates stop accepting the fact that they lost then we no longer have a democracy. Policy disagreements are fine - I hate Mitt Romney’s policies but would 100% vote for him over a Democrat who engaged in conspiracy theorizing about election results.

Then again it’s always easy to say that in the hypothetical, not so easy in practice, so I applaud your consistency when you have skin in the game.

You are going to be shocked to learn that it's not just deniers you have to worry about. You can use Google to find other articles and videos that contain first hand accounts of the plan to steal all elections forever. And it isn't just voter ID laws. It is a whole fucking blueprint Republicans will use.

Democrats have admitted to promoting, funding those election deniers in the runoffs, in hopes on election day more people will vote Democrat. Really not a bad strategy, hope it doesnt backfire on them. Problem with it though is like here, alot of people will judge all Republicans as being that way. But there are just as many far left crazies as far right ones (Still to this day HRC says she didnt loose), but i guess the crazy democrats get a pass

Just because you make claims, doesn’t mean it’s true. The only truth you put forward was that some democrats have used the strategy of supporting crazy Republican candidates. The rest is just right wrong propaganda and bothsidesism.

I don't even fund people I agree with, I find it hard to believe that people are funding their opposition!

which part isnt true? HRC herself has said she didnt loose, that the election was taken from her. People on these forums do lump all republicans into the Trumpster/MAGA group. Bothsideism? Well both sides are equally guilty, but people on the left give Democrat officials a pass, people on the right give Republican officials a pass. Those are facts, again look at pretty much any thread, there is no equality in treatment when it comes to politics. one side says its wrong, but then they do the same thing.

She won the Popular vote, that is what she was talking about. She WAS NOT saying she should have been in office. She admitted defeat.
Don’t be stupid.

Nope. You are still spewing bull shit. In fact here I am stating that there is indeed a difference.

Maybe for some but I have stated many times that there is a difference between, a righty, a Republican, a conservative, and a gun nutter.

-Funding a candidate doesn't mean they're going to win. These whackoos are still winning those (often closed so only Rep voters get a say) primaries and polling far better than they have any right to when they reach the general.

I feel like there was this like three day period back in the 90's where Republicans were just good old fashioned Don't Tax Me Bros but its been kinda a mess since.
