Concealed carry doesn't work if they already have a gun on you right?

Pretty good considering he was sitting down in a car (a traditionally hard position to draw from unless you're wearing a shoulder holster.)

I've told people here again and again, if someone has a gun trained on you, and you've got a practiced draw, you can draw and fire before they can pull the trigger. It has to do with intent and reaction times. They teach you this with simunitions in every police academy. Couple it in this case with an amateur gang-banger with no weapons training and likely no intent to shoot anyone.

I'd still say the CCW guy did an amazing job. Lots of cops are shot and killed as they sit in the drivers seat because it's so difficult to draw your weapon from the seated position and react. The guy even had the good sense to reholster his weapon before the police arrived, after securing the bad guy's gun. This should be the CCW text book.

Should the otherside of the argument start posting stories where the opposite was true? Would that change your mind? No? Then why the fuck do you think your story is of any importance?

Anecdotal evidence is just that, anecdotal.

Wait, is this a statistics board? Science board? I thought it was politics and news... This seems to be both.

Fact: Criminals have guns

If you do not, then the only thing standing between you and a funeral is the kindness of a person who has already shown reckless disregard for you.

Scary and stressful situation and I am glad he was able to come through it unharmed.

We all know the arm chair commandos will have a lot to say, so I'll throw my two cents in.

I would have gotten back in the vehicle and nailed it. Stopped, then called the police.

If I were going to stay out of the vehicle like this gentlemen, I would have gone to the front of the vehicle and put the engine/passenger compartment between me and the other bad guy. I would NOT have stepped out in front of that corner. If I were going to clear the corner I would have done it WAY wide beginning at the front of vehicle and using it for quick exit from the corner if needed.

So the moral of the story is: if the left got their wish, that man would not have been able to defend himself.

HAHA, damn, cry more dude, y u so mad??? It must REALLY tear you anti-gun nutjobs to little shredded pieces when someone uses a firearm and defends themselves instead of becoming a statistic for you to drool over.

Obviously it mean that people don't need more than ten round capacity mags. This guy neutralized a threat while he had a gun on him. So anyone can do it.

Just like when people show off videos with people reloading 10 round magazines rapidly in succession then firing dozens of rounds quickly. It shows that people don't need 12, 13, 15, 17 or 20 rounds in a magazine.

The victim is very lucky that the other guy ran. It looked like 3 maybe 4 rounds and he was a decent shoot.

If anything, this video helps show that with 2 vicious thug attackers you need to have at least 10rds with a handgun.

Most carjackings happen similar to this.. You're most likely to need your gun right as you're getting into your car, it's good to be in the habit of having it in your hand to place in an easily accessible but secure location for when you're driving.

He did great compared to what an anti-gun nut would've done but I agree.

These guys almost always work in crews of 3.. I'm surprised there wasn't another thug on the other side of the car.

I counted atleast 4 shots. If the second guy decided to start shooting from around the corner this guy could have been out of amo real quick.

Just saying, it's possible. I've heard the armchair argument that if someone has a gun on you then what you're carrying is 100% worthless. Well apparently not quite 100%...

is this video real? it looks entirely acted out

And where are you getting that from? If you noticed the "black" hat turning red as the gang-banger approached, notice how it turns black again as he tries to run away. Just bad color on the camera.

Lol, I was merely using the same argument gun nuts use when anti gun people bring up anecdotal evidence, I guess you can dish it out but you can't take it. That's usually how it is with most hypocrites;)

Btw, I'm neither pro gun or anti gun, I'm pro logic, which explains why I ignore most of your posts.
