Spend your money wisely, it is your only vote. I will probably buy this game pretty soon myself but I was always going to get it. I might also get the Star Wars game and that had zero appeal to me before launch.

There really is no plan. The masses have spoken this is what they want....
I'll vote with my wallet sure, but that means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Preordering, poor quality ports, unfinished games being released to meet holiday deadlines, etc. will only continue.
Gamers as a community have voted with our wallets.

So, I can only sit back and hope that my continued employment continues to pay me a salary in which 1-2 high end GPUs every year isn't a remotely big deal.

But seems like it's a horrendous proposition for the rest of the gaming community, but hey, we've voted with our wallets....

So what's your plan? What's your constructive criticism?

Constructive criticism Nvidia: I would like to see the game work features more open, like they did with CPU physx, to improve adoption.

Constructive criticism Amd: I would like to see them innovate more and improve the experience more with features like Tressfx.

Developers major focus is on consoles and is paramount for the independent hardware vendors to try to differentiate and innovate to improve the PC experience.

Constructive criticism developers: I would like them to invest more into the PC platform, have more of a major focus.

If PC gaming continues to grow, developers may shift more focus on the PC platform, looking forward to this day.

I mean, we've said all these things before. We are seeing an INCREASING number of users to be against this though. People want their favorite team to win at any cost and it's disheartening to see even on this forum the numbers of people grow.

It sounds great, I like what you're saying, I've said it before myself. But we're just not going to see it.
The masses want more proprietary features that show their GPU choice was the better choice. Not less...

Allow me to post some benchmarks I did on the beta version, a few months back.

Normally I would not post these, since they are from the beta, but I tested the shipped version on my primary system with the same settings as I did back then and I only found a 1fps difference, so I guess not much changed in terms of performance. The benchmark itself has a couple of different turns I think, but overall it's the same.

Not sure about the rest of the systems though, since they have gone through some hardware changes anyway. In any case the focus of this post is some older gpus, that are not easily found in recent benchmark reviews.

Here goes (warning for spicy wallpapers)

Dirt Rally 1920X1080 Ultra 8xMSAA GTX 970 @1.5Ghz CORE i5-2500K @4.8GHz -74fps

Dirt Rally 1920X1080 Ultra 8xMSAA GTX 970 @1.5Ghz CORE i7-860 @4GHz - 76fps

Dirt Rally 1920x1080 Ultra 8xMSAA GTX 970 @1.5Ghz Q9550 @4GHz - 64fps

We see little cpu limits on the old Q9550, which still managed a very playable performance. The nature of the game is such, that weaker cpus can handle it.

Dirt Rally 1920X1080 Ultra 8xMSAA 7950 @1.1Ghz CORE i7-860 @4GHz - 46fps

Dirt Rally 1920X1080 Ultra 2xMSAA GTX 570 @850Mhz Q9550 @4GHz - 46fps

Dirt Rally 1920X1080 ultra 2xMSAA 5850 @950Mhz Q9550 @4GHz - 30fps

Dirt Rally 1920X1080 high 2xMSAA 5850 @950Mhz Q9550 @4GHz - 51fps

Dirt Rally 1920X1080 Ultra noAA 5850 crossfire @950Mhz Q9550 @4GHz - 46fps

The rest of the systems did ok considering their age. The 7950 would have done a lot better with more sensible AA settings. I just wanted to do a direct comparison with the 970. Their difference came around 60% which is the norm for most games.

Going from Ultra to High on an old card like the 5850, can easily give a 70% performance boost. Most likely due to framebuffer limitations I guess.

Ultimately, the market decides, rightly or wrongly.

Not for anything, but Nvidia shouldn't ever watch and learn anything AMD does. I mean look where each respective company is. Just sayin.
AMD with a small fraction of the resources Nvidia has is schooling them on how to make games work effectively on all hardware. Short version, you are dead wrong.

Maybe you should keep your thoughts to yourself instead of trying to troll others? You KNOW very well where this nonsense will go.

Crossfire support and Eyefinity support on day one. Gameworks, you should watch and learn.

If we're going to mention gameworks, lets look at the HD5850's performance. It's getting GREAT FPS on High settings in this game. Can we say the same thing for a 2 generation old GPU for project CARS from Nvidia?(Really any older generation GPU?).

I can rant on for awhile, but you get the point. Gameworks is the most ironic name ever, since it literally makes games not work well.....

I agree about the market share. But my comment was aimed toward day one support of everything. Check Dirt Rally and Mad Max, it had no issue at all on day one. Sorry if my comment was negative toward gameworks, it's just that their latest games are unplayable on my setup... let's not talk about their unsupported multi-monitor... whether it's Nvidia Surround or AMD Eyefinity...it just doesn't work. Why can't I play this awsome Fallout 4 game with eyefinity or CrossFire, I am stuck to single card at 3840x2160. http://www.wsgf.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=30431

Is it just me, or does the car look like it is floating in 3rd person view in this game?

The best view is the bumper view in my opinion, the driving wheel in this car looks horrible. But other cars must be different. I only played 11 minutes and it was the vid you saw.

I just rewatched my video, god I was driving badly on my first minutes in this game. It's better at the end of the vid.

Both teams have their moments, good and bad, when it comes to driver support for games on release. People seem unable to accept this.

And I'm back from vacation (not a ban, personal one :D ). This post sums it up pretty much. The events we're seeing now is basically consumers making decisions.

I remember the echos of how AMD owning the consoles would usher in some golden age of PC ports. Nvidia has a deep magic hat. And they are going to do everything they can to maintain the status quo, and the majority of gamers seem to have no issue with it. Oh well, go with the flow.

Finally got around to installing this the other day, got it for free a while back. I'm surprised no one has posted their benchmarks in this thread. I dont know about you guys but I dont have a 5960K or 980ti SLI

I'm pretty sure that Rally was bundled with the $15+ Humble Bundle last month. Pretty sure that's how I got my copy, at least.

It was a ~20% or so off coupon.

Haha, if that's true I need to figure out how I got a copy of the game. OH...nooo...wait...to my Email!'

EDIT: OHHHHHHH. When I bought those 290X's back in June, I got two codes from Microcenter. I claimed one. Explains that. Haha.
