Anyone know if the full capacity of theWD 175GB drive will be available if I use a standard ATA/133 controller rather than the provided Promise Ultra 100 TX2 card? I searched the WD and Promise support areas, and drew a blank.

Does a promise card come with it? As long as you have a newer motherboard, you shouldn't need a card.

I was considering the camera too, until I saw the reviews that you linked. No thanks.

Thanks for the heads up FPSguy.

The main benefit of ATA/133 was to break a 137 GB capacity barrier.

Ostensibly, it also bumped the interface speed to 133 MB/s max. but in practice, this is extremely unimportant to ATA disk I/O performance. (If you have a 4-device ATA/133 RAID array, it might start to matter.)

"HP photosmart 1115 refurbished 300871 $29.99 (10 per store limited to stock on hand, 1 per house)"

Good deal for a refurb?

They are available on CompUSA website right now for $30 SHIPPED. I was almost ready to buy it when I saw CompUSA's refurbished policy. I am not taking my chances on something that is only guaranteed to power up. However, it supposedly comes with both black and color print cartridges. They alone are probably worth more than $30.

I might have given it a shot if I had not invested $40 into a new print cartridge for my Lexmark a week ago.

Same in Texas, Friday 6pm to midnight AND there will be no honoring returns. I.E. you can not purchase early and bring back for discount/pricematch. Of course this is YMMV, but that is what I was told.

Now we know why BB had the Netgear wireless router on sale for $20 during the middle of the week. They were doing an early competative PM with CompUSA. The SMC 22 Mbps wireless router for $30 looks like a nice deal.

Compusa is selling the netgear Wireless for $20???

pkananen, thanks for verifying the official start time/date of the sale.

Are you able to find out, as well, what people are dying to know -- whether the sale will also be available online?

That would be really helpful!

i really don't think so. i think the flyer has that tucked away somewhere in it. compusa is way too disorganized to tell me something like that. my managers don't know either i am sure.

A lot of people are wondering about the online availability of these items. Many say "not available via mail order/Internet but CompUSA ads often say that and then the items ARE available at the advertised prices online so I guess, short of some official notification, we'll have to wait and see.

FAR items say not available via Internet.
Emachine says minimum 10 per store, which sounds like not through Internet.
HP Photosmart printer says Quantities limited. Limited to stock on hand. 10 per store.

In the middle of the first page it says "Product Selection varies in stores. All products available online at compusa.com unless otherwise noted."

Where is the 175GB hard disk mentioned in the flyer? I can't find it.

I see the hard drives mentioned on page 6 but none of them are 175GB.

Anyone have details on this rebate, i.e. how hard would it be to get more than one?

There's your problem! There is no page six. Advertisement is just one sheet front and back.
