If I were trying to record 8 tracks of 24/96 audio with this thing simultaneously I'm pretty sure I'd have a dropout in no time.

As for the 137GB thingie.... The reason your mobo recognizes it as 137GB is that the BIOS on your machine is relatively old, and only knows 24-bit LBA addressing (maxes out at 137GB -- remember the old 32GB drive limit?? :)). New BIOS will most likely enable 48-bit LBA addressing. Or just keep it on the provided PCI card (which is 48-bit LBA addressing enabled).

And as for the CPU utilization, i'm not sure what to say there... i'd make sure you have chipset drivers installed, and if it is on the PCI card, make sure you have the latest drivers for that!

I'm going to try to exchange it tommorow- let's see what they do if they're out of stock.

Again, might be a problem with the 137GB barrier in relatively old BIOSes. I know WD drives are wack when it comes to jumpers, but if its booting then you have those correct. Other than that, im not sure... what is the STOP error?

Are you running it off the PCI card? If so, make sure your loading the drivers for that correctly. If your running it off mobo, make sure your BIOS recognizes it as a 180GB instead of 137GB. If it detects it as the latter, update your bios (make sure it has 48-bit LBA addressing)
