boinc...boinc....

couple of notes while I'm boincing here....

might want to mention that "vtuathome" must be added to the end of the home page URL of VTU in order for the boinc client to recognize it

(edit) and, I think you might want to re-examine the alphabetical order of projects....hint....look closely at the "R" projects.... 😉

I had forgotten to update the VTU link when the project devs changed it, but it's fixed now. Thanks.

I also put the rebellious Resource Management project back in its place so that those of us who are especially picky about having things spelled properly and in the right order (myself included, so I'm not sure how I missed it 😉) don't develop a nervous twitch when reading the list. 😀

1. Riesel Sieve is spelled incorrectly.

2. PrimeGrid is working perfectly, no server problems.

3. VTU is very glitchy, as looking at the #1 team's credits will attest. You should put the note there.

4. I get a "server cant open database" error with scheduler requests to Crash Collection, didn't get that a few days ago, just got a "no new work" error.

5. Add a note that BOINC Alpha is not included in boinc.netsoft-online.com.

6. What do you people think is the best BOINC stat listing? As in boinc.netsoft-online.com.

7. There is no "create account" link on the Break the Forum.

8. Resource Measurement does not allow you to make an account. I get a Too Many Connections error from MySQL if I try.

9. Renderfarm@home

Spinhenge is now in open beta-testing.
Account creation is available.
Team Anandtech has been founded today.
There are plenty of WUs around!

I would've tried spinhenge, but I cant read it, so there. (German I think?)

BTW, too bad this forum software does not support putting images in the signature or post.

You consider it bad, I love it. No clutter, just a plain good forum where contenct is more important than visual appearance. And I can even surf the foorum with my 5,kkb modem while I'm on the road 🙂

Thank you for the info, Stalin and Phillipart. I'll get the main post updated as soon as I have a chance (work is really busy right now). 🙂

Predictor@Home went on a hiatus a couple of weeks ago.

08/15/06

The last of the bprion work units should go out today. After that there will be a down time while we implement new methods of protein structure prediction. Thank you for your support in this project and we look forward to working with you again.

the only thing in german is the news, the rest is in english, click the international flag next to about. For the news you can use google to translate it 😉

Maybe, but I don't like that translate tools tend to warp the meaning of the article.

Turns out that the steel thing is a DynDNS account. Even though the server is down, the IP is still referenced, so I could find out that the website is probably in Poland. And that's a place where Firefox rules!(Strange, it says that it doesn't know where AT is located.)

Oops... sorry for the flooding.

My firefox for some reason didn't empty the cached version of this page, so I thought something was wrong and posted multiple times. 🙂

Big update today. 🙂

Added ECDLP Project, Renderfarm@home, and Steelheating@home. Updated Break the Forum, Crash Collection, HashClash, PrimeGrid, Resource Measurement, Riesel Sieve, Spinhenge@Home, and VTU@Home.

Steelheating still down - Now I have to wait a week (5 consecutive failures reached) before BOINC will attempt to contact again.
