It's what the ounce company sets as a goal, hence the 20 and 40 ounce containers, cuz math is hard. It's in the article.

Fwiw, I drink between 70-100 oz
That’s a lot of water.

Seems silly to start a thread about a topic the OP considers silly.

Or maybe the OP gets to show fake concern while he points out black people being ridiculous.

I initially read that as "snow flake concern". My mistake.

As long as they aren’t targeting their marketing to African Americans with this trope, no reason to be outraged.

For the record, I’ve only personally witnessed white people drinking 40s (frat boys playing Edward Fortyhands) vs. black people.

Remember the bubble gum cigarettes?

The argument there was that kids would eat the candy cigs and this would make them want to smoke as adults. I don't think that sort of logic really applies to water bottles shaped like malt liquor bottles. If anything, the better argument is that it may go the other way.

He did. He said that it was because it looked like liquor.

He said only that it was shaped like a malt liquor bottle, not that this was why it was controversial. Re-read the sentence. The phrase "which is shaped like a malt liquor bottle" set off by commas could mean that is what the outrage is about or just that this was something they threw into the sentence for purely descriptive purposes.

I frankly assumed that the issue had to do with plastic and its environmental impact. The reason being that this is a more rational concern than worrying over the shape of a bottle. Turned out after reading the article that it really was stupid faux outrage over a bottle shape.

I'll be honest when I say: I didn't know there was a universal figure/design of a 40oz malt liquor bottle. Last I checked it was... just a fucking bottle.

You fellows really need some new material. Every thread UC creates is met with the same thoroughly used, beaten, flogged, consumed, and generally improperly applied response. It probably had some small impact the first couple of hundred times you used it, but because his posts rarely express any sort of concern, it comes across as ignorant.

Some things are simply iconic. Mad Dog 20/20, Ripple (back before they made it out of grapes) Old English 800, and one other malt liqueur that I can't remember the name of right now (so much for icons).

Thank you.

Edit: taking out my rant bc I don’t wanna get into it. The "concerned" response is just a red flag of ignorance

Funny. In terms of entrepreneurship ive always said that you can sell water and make good money if you have the right people behind it. In terms of packaging those dimensions looks sub optimal, you are going to be transporting alot of air, I can only deduce that whatever they are doing with design and marketing offsets that penalty.
And now im done thinking about it. Its water.

Oh, in the OP there was a picture of a price. 2x40oz water for $3 is a great price comparatively.

I typically buy the 100oz Poland spring at Target for $1, stays in my car, have a reusable water bottle. It's the best deal I've found.

But the sentence is that it looks like liquor which is harmful to the community. That gave me the understanding of what was going on.

this is exactly what I was going to post. Just put sugary sludge in those bottles and it's the same issue. I don't see how people don't understand the concern about this.

Because one was targeted at kids, while the other is not.

Just another example of modern liberals being upset about anything that reflects their own failures.

Heh. There's no indication that Breukelen Rise is more than a couple of people with a website & an itch for headlines. But the whole thing is typical of UC's shit stirring concerns for the concerned & your own eagerness to tar Libs in general with whatever you come across.

It's just a bottle of water.

It does show that if it exists or is thought it might, someone will have a fit about it. It's like Rule 34.

It may be said that bottles look somewhat like a penis, which could explain why there are so many dicks on the internet.

Did you know that if you take one of these...

and slice it lengthwise from the head to about the midpoint you get:
