I think we are begining to see a pattern here. People (most of them atleast) who have already placed and order and later called up and cancelled twice ... are not being approved a third time. I think CH might have made an internal rule to reject such orders 'cos they know these people will never buy a DVD at regular price..and that they are just abusing (or as we call, making the best of) the deal.

So the alternative is to use other address/names if you want to get in this deal again. Else you'll sign up and be happy thinking your order is on its way..but that'll never happen. It gets rejected outright in the approval dept and no matter how much you call...you'll never get the reason for it.

so far as i can tell from reading on here and on fatwallat, this deal is dead if you've already done two accounts, they seem to simply be ignoring 3rd accounts and not honoring them, bastitches. trying to cut us from ripping them off further, haha, just kidding, but i thought i'd pass this on to everyone

Maybe...but I have only had ONE account (my only CH account ever), and I cancelled it on the website the day after I got the DVDs. So I waited a few days and called and started a new account, which is MIA. So, this missing account is only my second, not my third. Pretty confusing. I'll just wait it out.

My 2nd order, made on 11/2 (10 days ago) has not been charged. The first order, made 10/20 was charged 11/4. Nothing received yet.

Pretty sure. The first order arrived yesterday (11/12) by US Mail. Haven't been charged yet for the 2nd order, made 11/2. I figure I'll wait awhile before closing my first account. I'll give them some time to charge my 2nd account before cancelling the first one. In either case, I'll cancel, but I figure my chances of getting the 2nd order increase if I don't cancel the first. Good thinking? I don't see a downside to waiting a few weeks before cancelling the first order... ?

If you are not charged within 3-4 days..chance are that you will never be..the approval dept will reject your order and thats it ..doesnt matter how many times you call and re-order again..your account has been flagged !

However, like in any case there are exception to this also. Some ppl have reported that they got charged after 1 month or even afer 2 months. But that happens very rarely ..maybe < 5% of the cases.

My gut feeling is that they dont want too many people absuing this deal by repeatedly ordering and cancelling. Anyone would know that this is a great deal..even if you buy a 3rd DVD at 14.95..thats still a killing if you go for the high priced ones (> 30$).


Wait and watch ..more people will report that their 2nd or 3rd order never getting charged !

well, it could normally take up to 5 days to get an account approved, plus 2 days for it to show up on your CC. i'd say to wait at least 2 weeks before re-ordering.

I've had orders dissappear before, but they seem isolated.

also, i've already been charged for 4 orders on the same CC.
 
do we know what's the criteria of rejection? Is it a different CC #, mailing address, CC address or a combination of the above? I am thinking about re-ordering it and have it send to my gf's house under my name and my CC, not sure if that's gonna fly. If they only check mailing address, then it should be ok, right?
 
I dont know, when I called an ordered a second time the guy asked if my phone number was ###-#### and it was the number of the phone I was calling from (our second line) but not the number on my first account so I think they have caller ID and might track it by that too. I guess just use a second line to be safe!
 

ANY5546...I htink you just brought up a vital point here....i have a feeling that this might be the reason once of my accounts is never getting account...i used my bro's address and credit card but always call from my home.

I have called thrice to re-order but it never gets charged !
 
Here is my experience for what it's worth...

I ordered three times from one address... two were identical using the same credit card, one used a different spelling of my name, a different listing of my address (both have always gotten stuff to me in the past no problem) and a different credit card. Then I ordered once more from my girlfriends house.

I got the two that were addressed identically and the one to my girlfriend's house, but the one with the unique name, address and credit card never showed up... hmmm.... I cancelled all three immediately and waited about a week. Then I called customer service to see what the hold up was. I told her I had cancelled the old accounts and didn't think it would be a problem siging up again.... She looked through all my records on both credit cards and never found a record of that last order. I told her I would like to order again and have it sent to my girlfriend's to avoid confusion. She placed the order and assured me I don't need to worry about duplicate orders as the original is nowhere to be found in their system....

<<FLASH FORWARD TO TODAY, ABOUT 7 DAYS AFTER REPLACING ORDER>>

No DVDs yet but I don't expect them for a few days... If everything works out fine, I'll cancel that order and try again... hopefully my original address wasn't flagged as my parents are planning to do this for me once or twice for Christmas presents!
 
looks like none of my 2nd round of orders are going to go trhough, bah, now i have to order to my friends apt to get this, damn

mpjohnst: You have to re-rder with another address dude ... have'nt you got the message yet ? your 3rd order has probably been rejected.

Looks like CH is not so dumb after all..their approval dept seem to be smarter than most expected !

They don't have the SW movies, original, because I don't think they ever released them on DVD. There was a laserdisk version and various bootlegs have been made, presumably from the laserdisk version with varying degrees of success. I've not seen any but did some pretty extensive research via Google and Google Groups. My impression is that the DVD5 version of SW/SE is superior to the DVD9 version, also known as the 5 Star Collection, which is a 3 DVD set. You can get the DVD5 version as separate disks, for 9.99 each shipped at Movieshop, and the 5 Star Collection too for $35 shipped. It's a tradeoff, but it's said that the DVD5 version has superior audio and video which takes precedence for me. There may be an issue with incorrect lip-synch in the DVD5 version, although my impression is that this may have been fixed. The complaints were from some time ago.
 
Someone mentioned earlier that they believed CH used caller ID. Based on my experiences, I believe that they also are using call block. I completed two successfull orders to one address. After canceling one of the original accounts, I called back and joined again using the same CC but a different address. I am now trying to call to start a fourth account but everytime I call, the phone rings and no one answers. I have called them at least 10 times (spanning a couple days) allowing for at least 10 rings each call. This seems very peculiar as all of my other calls were answered promptly. All three of the accounts I signed up for were made on the same phone/number. I suspect that they are now blocking my call. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
 
i am not sure about call blocking cos i have never experienced it before .... i always get through in 10 minutes ... besides i dont think they are so manipulative....they may just take an order but never approve it.

anyway, i just called my credit card to verfiy if there was an pending approval from CH and they told me that there was one just yesterday from CH ...that strange cos the last time i made an order, it was > 10 days.... and the next time was today..which means the last order just showed up today ....and the order i made today was a duplicate of last one.

heck...even if it i get duplicates....i'll just exchange it cos as per CH's exchange policy i can do it within 10 days...

Getting duplicates is better than getiing nothing at all !! What say ???

BTW: THAT WAS MY 500 th POST .... 2 YEARS AND SO MANY WONDERFUL DEALS ... THANKS AT !!!

Congrats on your 500 posts desibaba... but read my post all the way through before you criticise it! I did reorder with a different address, my girlfriend's, which only had one account on it (legal by CH standards). And yes the original 3rd order was rejected... as I pointed out!
 


oh ---yeaaaaaaaah ! 3 orders (off diff address/names/cards) showed up today ... that pushes up my total to 7 accounts (21 DVD's) using XB6D.

Just 3 more to go to complete the masterpiece !
