If I ever get to 300 pounds or more, *somebody* here needs to murder me.

Seriously.

I dislike very overwieght people because many good things may at somepoint be ruined because of them, stupid ideas like "fat taxes" and what not to curb the "epidemic" that is fatness. My sister is in high school and next year they are going to take all the pop machines out of the school. If I was in high school I would flip, heaven forbid we should warn these kids about promiscuity, we need them to make their own choices, but keep them away from those Pepsi machines, they aren't resposible enough to make those kinds of choices on their own.

In the average beer carbohydrates account for less than 1/3rd of the total calories. In the average light beer the percentage of carbohydrates is even less. In a drink with 146 calories (non light) in 12 ounces, two beers are equal to one slice of sandwich bread. Unless you are drinking an 18 pack every night beer is not a significantly overwhelming source of carbohydrates. Beer bellies are more caused by consuming regular food and junk food along with beer.

146 calories is like a soda...i agree that beer doesn't contribute to weight gain more than anything else, but it's just as bad as sodas and fruit juices - empty calories

The point is that the majority of the calories in alcohol are not converted to fat as readily as calories from any other source. Alcohol calories, that is. Beer is not just as bad as soda, it's considerably less fatening.

Seriously.

If I got to that weight, my bum knee would buckle and I would be in a wheelchair. When I was on crutches and therapy (when I got back home) for a year, I gained a lot of weight. Before that specific injury I was 190 lbs and I ate like a monster. I could eat a whole 50 piece chicken McNuggets and still go for desert. I once ate 72 large buffalo wings and I still ate a whole dozen of those chocolate covered cherries afterwards. It is really disgusting, now that I think about it (I can't even eat 1/4th of that now without feeling sick to my stomach). I didn't eat like that all the time, but I would eat a lot of food anyways (mostly egg whites, spinach, fries, meat, breads <college cafeteria stuff>). Then when I lived off campus, a lot of pasta and eggs (cheap).

Of course, I was also very athletic and I was young, so I didn't care. I would just play basketball for 5 hours and lift some weights. Then I would game and play pool for the rest of the time, but that is a different story.

After I got injured, I still ate a lot. What pisses me off about the injury was that it was a half court pick up game, it is just the guy guarding me was a competitive asshole that cut the legs out from under me and I landed full on my ankle. And because I couldn't get around anymore (I had to put all my weight on my bad leg from another injury), I ate a lot of fast food. Wendy's late night and Jack in the Box killed me. I eneded up ballooning to 225 lbs. Did therapy, and got most of my balance back. Decided to walk everywhere and only eat very portioned meals. It worked. I got back down to 195 lbs. Then I took up cycling because I couldn't do some other sports anymore.

I do want to lose more weight though. I am only 6'0", so ideally I want to be around 178 lbs. Don't know if that is possible though because I already work out almost everyday, and I eat right for the most part. I can't substitute for Whey protein either becasue that will make me sick.

It is because the most of the "poor" in America are within the top 10% richest people in the world. It still boggles my mind how "poor" Americans have this chip on their shoulder about everything. How everyone owes them something (Sense of Entitlement FTL).

In places like Ghana, one of Africas only really stable working democracies, the majority of the rural people and their families, live off of $1 a day. China, even less. Which has a huge migrant rural worker population that it exploits and it seems to be working so far for the government.

Of course the top 10% richest people in the world will be fat (about 90% of America fit this standard of wealth), if they are lazy (which is the key ingredient). Actually in America, the fat factor is spread across the board of economic lines. It is an urban myth that only the poor are fat in America.

I'm not talking a little paunch here, i'm talking those blimp-like people you seem to see more & more these days...usually shoving fast food down their throats at a terrifying speed.

Don't give me any of that 'genetic predisposition to getting fat crap either and making it IMPOSSIBLE to loose weight, it's essentially BS & nothing a good diet/excercise won't solve).

Ummm.. because they were eating pie? <shrug>

My highlights:

One person in there, Jon Brower Minnoch:
"He was readmitted [to the hospital] later that year after regaining 200 lbs in seven days."
200lbs in 7 days????? Holy hell, was he just eating non-stop, without sleeping?

Another disturbing bit, Roselie Bradford:
"She later sued the Star tabloid for suggesting that she couldn't have intimate relations with her husband at over half a ton."
I suffered through that image, now everyone else can too.

"[Michael Edelman] rapidly lost several hundred pounds, taking nourishment only when spoon fed. At about 600 lbs, he literally starved to death."
Howard - guess you're wrong. Incredibly fat people can apparently starve to death.

Johnny Alee:
"Grown men couldn't get their arms around one of Alee's thighs, and he could no longer squeeze through his own front door."
Apparently, grown men everywhere just can't get enough of Fat Man Thighs....

Fatties

That was a picture of me at a buffet here in town. An all you can eat buffet. I didn't see the mammoths in the back until I actually looked at the pictures later.

I've found that limiting my interest in weight and health to my own body generally produces better results than does putting other people down.

It is more comfortable and requires less energy to sit on the couch than to run. Unhealthy foods taste better than healthy foods. It is the realisation that to become a better person, you are going to have to damage some of the only enjoyments in your life that creates a barrier keeping fat people fat.

Personally, my shallow priorities and fear of being unhealthy keep me motivated.

dude, true story

last week i few back home to Denver from Indy and i had a middle seat. I get to my seat, put my laptop under the seat in front of me and settle in for the flight. the isle seat next to me was empty. so i thought to myself COOL!

WRONG!! i swear i must have pissed off the Gods because this fat whale waddles on down the isle and im thinking, "no, please no no no..." I take a quick glance around looking for other empty seats and there were only 3. her waddling is getting closer and the fricken plane is moving (united 767) and scanning for her seat isle. she gets to row 15 which is mine and just smiles at me. NOOOOOOOOOOO keep moving you whale! dont take this seat, take the one 5 rows back!!! well i loose and she squeezes her fat fat fat ass in the seat. she is actually oozing in my seat and i kinda scooch over to my right so her rolls of fat are not touching me.

Dude, i swear as soon as we are in the air maybe 10 min she bends over as much as her belly will allow her and grabs her purse. and i use purse loosly becuase it a more or less a canvas tent with handles and the sides and sewn toghether. and she proceeds to start to chow down. first it was a big ass pastry, then a bag of funoinions (sp), then a tuna sandwich. 20oz bottle of pepsi.

I was amazed! it was like a bag of holding from a D&D game. everytime she would put her fat sausages in the bag she would pull out something else to eat. and i swear the climax was the KFC. she actually SUCKED AND SMACKED ON HER FINGERS WHEN SHE WAS DONE EATING IT!!!! I so wanted to slap the sh*t out of her when she did that.

anyway, i have flown a lot this year, that is the first time i have ever experience that and hope it is the last. it was just gross.

Why would you call your priorities shallow?
