College Girls get probation for drinking, setup website that said "F U" judge...

Can't believe how many people are missing the point here.

They did not get jail time for underage drinking. The judge gave them probation for that.

They publicly flaunted the breaking of their probation and their contempt for the court system. They were given jail time for those violations and for being complete and utter morons.

It was well-deserved and should teach them a lesson, but it sounds like their parents are trying to prevent that from happening by telling them that the judge is just a vengeful old meanie and they weren't doing a single thing to deserve what happened to them. Just proves that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Join the military, go to Europe, and drink legally. Worked for me!

Military law states that no member may drink under 21, regardless of station.

You had better check your sources. In the old days, active duty could drink on base regardless what the states's legal age was. In the mid-80's, that was changed to reflect whatever the drinking age was for the state the base was located in and how close the base was located to statelines. This had to do with whether the neighboring state had a lowewr drinking age. However, overseas is a different story and still is.

DoD Instruction 1015.10: "The minimum drinking age on a DoD installation located outside the United States shall be 18 years of age. Higher minimum drinking age will be based on international treaties and agreements and on the local situation as determined by the local installation commander."

So, I'll say it again. Join the military, go to Europe and have a pint!

you're comparing kids drinking to loosen up with waving guns in peoples faces...

This is my FAVORITE post in this thread. Yeah, those teenage kids need a beer to loosen up after a hard day of work at the steel mill. 😉

the judge wonders why he didn't get through to the kids???I completly understand he doesn't want kids to get hurt....but EVERY TEENAGER DRINKS. it's the point of being that age. If we eliminated the legal drinking age you'd take the fun out of it for half the people that do it, and probably eliminate the problem.

Not every teenager drinks. Most do, not all though. But thanks for lumping us all together though.
