I am so fucking sick of media corporations dropping to their knees and sucking Trumps tiny dick.

Journalism my ass.
Cuz they haven't been journalists for decades, it's businessmen all the way down, now.

Shit you get better journalism from IG accounts nowadays.

All those media people are limp-wristed sissies -- not an American in the bunch.

So now, with Trump and the spineless, America is lower than crocodile piss. You hear that? After your ancestors made sacrifices in world wars and much of the history thereafter, they died and sacrificed for NOTHING! America is Lower than Crocodile Piss!!

He gave us the health care mess we have now.

Trump promised to fix it, but he lied.

Won't someone please just socialize medicine? I was against it, now I demand it!

Health care should be non profit.
The fuck he did! The healthcare mess started long before the ACA! Maybe pull your head out of your ass and spend some time learning the facts and stop posting lies that are fueled by pure ignorance!

Obama did not give us the health care mess we have now. If anything the ACA was quite successful at its goal of taming health care inflation.

Where did you get this nonsense from? I would distrust it in the future as you're being lied to.

Obamacare is far from ideal..but it’s still much better (for most people) than what we had before it. Unfortunately, the congresscritters folded when pressured by “big pharma” and “ big insurance”…and we ended up with what we have today.
About 18 months after I got hurt at work, my union insurance ran out. They offered me COBRA coverage…but that was over $1500/month. : eek: So…I went shopping on the healthcare market. For coverage for my wife and I, both over 50, comparable healthcare coverage, (similar co-pays, but with $6000 each deductibles) was $1300+/month…and that was without the dental and vision that my union insurance had. Couldn’t afford that shit either, so we went without healthcare coverage. About the time my SSDI medicare kicked in, Obamcare kicked in…with its mandate. IIRC, we paid the…$95? for my wife, since the healthcare shopping market still wasn’t up and running well here in WA., but once it was, we signed her up for a HMO plan similar to Kaiser.IIRC, (in fact, Kaiser ended up buying Group Health out…and she became a Kaiser patienf for a couple of years. It was about $200/month for mediocre coverage, but better than none…certainly a lot more affordable than before Obamacare.

That's because COBRA is from a different era. It was created to allow people to buy into their old plan to maintain coverage and avoid dreaded lapses in coverage that could impact insurance coverage for any sort of pre-existing condition. And it was from a time where individual plans sucked a lot more than today.

After the ACA and the marketplaces were created, it is almost pointless to buy into COBRA except in some very specific circumstances.

My wallet tells no tales. I can't see the damn doctor because the first 3,000 comes out of pocket. And if that doesn't work they pull the "we are not paying for that" card.

I got stuck with a $4000 medical bill in 2023 because they did not approve of the standard treatment. They needed the money to buy back stock.

After 1 of its executives was killed, United Healthcare got the message and is approving more claims.

Unfortunately, insane profits and stock buybacks are down as a result and now shareholders are suing led by Black Rock.

What does that have to do with Obama?

The question isn't if the ACA was perfect, I'm just trying to figure out why our good friend FDC would be blaming Obama for this?

For example:

ACA was a band aid—one that gets painfully ripped off in 2026 (expect your ACA premiums to jump 75% or more in 2026 thanks to the GOP!)

It could’ve and should’ve been more than a band-aid, but for that you need to blame Joe Lieberman.

Health care should be non profit.

That mess is what allows you access and to be able to afford the medicine you need so you don’t sound like a fucking idiot all the time. Speaking of which, you need to take your medicine.

Joe Lieberman is definitely one of the issues, but the other issue is the median Democratic senator was more conservative at that time. We had Democratic senators from Missouri and Nebraska.

Not just that but you needed all 60 senators, meaning policy was basically captive to the most right wing Democratic senator.

It's the same thing with Manchin - he had a huge influence on policy because he was the most right wing Democrat and his vote was required to pass almost anything. That makes policy look a lot like his preferences.

Don't be a doofus. There are real differences in the party between the various senators. But when majorities are slim, the fence sitters are going to control the board and others are going to have to eat shit. That's the way politics is.
