Thoughts?

I walk to work, and everywhere I look I see people with coffee... and begin to notice I am sipping some as well.

WTF.

I remember this hobo at a park near Pike Place Market here in Seattle was insulting me and my family, and we didn't do anything except drink some sodas and some Starbucks. Using his rhymes, he talked about how we're all messed up with our Starbucks and gadgets and crap.

I highly recommend you don't go to that park. If you stare at the hobos the wrong way, they'll want to get in your face about it.

No offense Karen....but you are also older and from a generation not usually impressed by fads of this type. I am the same, but I don't drink coffee at all. It isn't even good for you. People in marketing are doing a damn good job of getting the younger folks to waste money though, I have to give them credit for that. If they would put all the money they waste on things like Starbucks into a retirement account they would be rich when they got older....but they would rather waste the money now. Pretty sad actually.

There were a lot of homeless around Seattle, but I never saw many in the Market. I think I might know the park you're talking about, though.

Worst hobo was a guy on the sidewalk, just standing there. Then you see the urine start to pool around his shoes. Grunts, shakes his feet, and walks on like nothing happened.

Actually coffee is extremely good for you.

Coffee in itself has its negatives and positives.

However when you load it up on whole milk, tons of sugar, and cream by the gallon, then you got a recipe for a heart attack waiting to happen.

It's negative is caffeine and assuming you don't drink more than one or two cups, the benefits of coffee far outweigh the negatives.

Why in the world would I be offended by being older and from a generation not impressed by fads? It is totally true.

Now, had you said that I was wrong for not jumping the Starbucks bandwagon, we might have had a little problem here.

Star Bucks isnt anythign special. People go there and pay a premium becaus eof the setting it is in. This is right out of the execs mouths from one of their conference calls. They are not in teh businees of selling you coffee. They are in the business of selling you an experience.

Ummm, no.

Better:
1) Water
2) Coffee

Answer:
1)
That's an amazingly simplistically stupid way to look at things. Is it possible that, :gasp:, two beverages can be good for one's self. :Q

I wasnt implying Starbucks is the best coffee, I was implying that it is the most popular... brand.
