Meh, I'd rather not see PC games generally become $60, but for a killer title I have no problems with it. I have 160 hours between MW2 single and multiplayer and still play it some.

People made a big stink about no lean in MW2 but honestly it's just not needed for the type of gameplay it has anyway.

Black Ops should be cool because my main complaint with MW2 is lack of dedicated servers (and related to that in some ways, cheaters) which it brings back. However I'm not picking it up on launch just because I don't need to buy anymore games right now.

For anyone thinking it's going to be $30 in a few months, look at MW1 and MW2 price history. You'll be waiting at least a year or more unless you catch some great sale.

$60 bucks for the game and $15 bucks for map packs is a non-purchase to me. Got a backlog of games to work through anyways.

So, people are upset that the price of games have risen $10 in like 15 years when the price of everything else is nearly doubled?

$60 isn't bad for a game.

Paying $60 for a multiplayer game only to have to listen to the shriekey, whiny voices of people whose balls have yet to drop yelling f$%& every 2 seconds and thinking they are John Rambo is what's a non sell to me.

$60 isn't bad. Hell, a new 360/PS3 game costs $60 and you get less (ie lower resolution, no mods, etc). It is out of the norm to pay $60 for a PC game but even if you play the multiplayer for a month you get your money's worth.

So? It's not worth $60. $50 max. They charged $60 for MW2 and then $30 for 2 map packs. MW2 isn't worth $90, neither is this game. If you are willing to spend $60 on a game worth $50. Then you should just give me all your money for the rest of your life. Since you obviously don't care about you money.

Activision and EA are the ONLY ones raising the prices. They don't need to be raised, everyone else is only charging $30-$50.

What do I get if I give you my money? In my opinion if I get a good amount of gametime out of a game for $60, I am happy. I do understand that games, in your opinion, should cost $50 but a "game's worth" is different for everyone. I purchased MW2 @ $60 and it was worth it for me, but I did not purchase any of the DLC.

Preloaded and ready to go. It's a bit pricey, but it's still a decent amount of game for the money when you factor in other entertainment options (going to the movies and so on).

And if I average it with the price of all my other Steam purchases, it's not so bad.

Yeah. $40 or $50 for a game that gets 2-3 weeks of use as in a single player game, or this at $60 if the multiplayer is compelling enough to last (me) 2-3 months and the price isn't much of an issue.

What is bad is the fact that this is a VERY old engine and another COD update (#6 to be exact).

I'm almost positive this is still an upgraded COD ORIGINAL engine (if not, COD2).

I'm not buying it, but as long as people buy it......Activision will not develop a new/proper game. To be honest with you guys I doubt Activision CAN even do it proper if money was no object (which btw, it shouldn't be with how much they made/are making)

Do you think ID software throws away all their code and starts from scratch every time they announce a new engine? No, they are just updating their existing code and calling it a brand new engine for marketing reasons. It's no different from say MS Office 2.0, 3.0, etc.. Trust me the COD engine has been upgraded a lot since the early days.

FPS games are boring in general to me. So monotonous and mindless. Ill usually play an FPS until Im one of the better people in multiplayer then quit. Single player is usually good for one play through.

I wish developers would try to come up with some new game play for shooters. Either add some strategy aspect to it or rpg element. And I know some games do but COD is still pretty mindless. Put cross hair on target pull trigger, rinse and repeat.

PC games have been $50 for the longest damn time. Console games have been $60 for a while now.

99% of PC games that cost $60 are console ports.

I dont like the idea of PC games moving from $50 to $60. To me it feels like i'm being further fucked by the developers for 2 reasons:

1.) The amount of quality PC games has taken a hardcore nosedive in the last 5 years. There's almost NO reason to have a top of the line rig anymore. There used to be loads of powerhouse games on PC now there's like maybe 1 major title a year that will challenge your rig.
2.) Console games are $60, not PC. Thats the way its been and there's no reason to change it. The only reason they're changing it is because they know they can get away with it. They figure if the millions of console gamers are willing to pay $60 then we are too. So now instead of paying $50 for a quality game, we're paying $60 for a terrible quality console port.

If you live close to KMart they will sell Black Ops for $60-25 worth of points good for anything at Kmart or Sears. Have to join their points rewards program at the store.

So effectively $35. I believe deal includes pc version. I think I'm going with the 360 version even though I'm more pc oriented. Too many friends and family have gone to xbox. Also, there's some xbox games that are $25 off if bought at same time, like Rock Band 3.

I'll either pay $60 for it on Steam, or get it for $53-something at Walmart. $60 ain't nothing these days, if I get some hours of enjoyment out of it I'll be happy.
I took the gf to Saw 3D, that was $36 for tickets and refreshments. I'd rather have a game I can play and resell than those 2 1/2 hours of movie and previews I wasted my life on... :)

WTF are you talking about? Bethesda doesn't have any $60 pc games.

I'm not whining idiot. Maybe your mommy buys you all the games that you want, but I work for a living. Why would I WASTE $10 extra dollars that I could use or another game or two. Or even save it for something else.

Wasting money is retarded. Your not getting a better game for the extra money. It is the same exact game as if it would of been if it was $50.

Console games cost $60 cause of the $10 licencing fee from Sony and Microsoft. If there wasn't one, console games would also cost $50. Activision is just jacking an extra $10 out of everyone for free retard.

Notice how MW2 is still $60, and BC2 is $20? It's greed, BC2 is way better then MW2.

I remember when I thought games hitting $50 was ridiculous. However that was over 10 years ago, if you won't pay $60 for a pc game that took many man hours of development then you either need a new job or you don't think people that sit at a console developing games are worth more than $12 an hour for labor :p

Can you buy it from Direct2Drive, then register it so that you then get updates through Steam?

I don't know. I would have preferred the Steam version but theres no way I'm paying the
full $60 bucks for it. Maybe some how I can use the activation key on Steam? Here is the message at my D2D game pre-load screen:

Pre-load now!
Please return to this keypage on Tuesday, November 9th, 2010 at 7AM PST to receive your activation key.

WHICH RETAIL CD KEYS ARE ACCEPTED ON STEAM?

All retail Valve games and a number of third-party games can be registered to your Steam account. All of the following games can be registered through Steam:

Call of Duty: Black Ops CD Keys in this format: 1AB2C-D3FGH-456I7-JK8LM-NOP9Q

So I would assume if the CD Key is in this format it will be fine on Steam.

That's user preference. TO YOU it might be better. IMO I played/enjoyed MW2 more than BC2.

is it $40 better today? HELL NO

Would I pay $60 again for a game.....HELL NO
