I don't get why people WANT vaping to be bad. Shouldn't people want it to be good so society can safely shift from tobacco

this.

its idiotic there is finally a safe alternative to tobacco and busy body people along with the government want to start a war on vaping.

dont see the ads for kids in any of those links. Also you know who is paying for those ads? who do you think makes those ecigs in the ads?

big tobacco.

First 3 links I clicked on were bullshit (candy flavored=trying to attract children) or manufacturers like Blu e-cigs, which are owned by tobacco companies. No one really uses those products... I'm not even sure he read his own links, which doesn't surprise me.

Here's a quote from one:
“Senator Durbin’s opinion that it is ‘common sense’ that the use of vaporizers leads to an increase in smoking cigarettes is misleading and harmful. While we respect Senator Durbin’s opinion, he is unable to cite any studies with direct evidence to support his position,” said Phil Daman, president of the Smoke Free Alternatives Trade Association, in a statement.

Yet there was a 3 fold increase in usage among middle and high school age children between 2013-2014. Gee, why do you suppose that is?

There was a HUGE increase in vaping across the board those same years because that's when it was rolling out big. It went from nearly no one in 2010 and started increasing exponentially every year until 2014. It takes a fundamental misunderstanding of how statistics work to think that statistic has any merit.

What is the normal cigarette usage among middle and high school kids? The alcohol usage? Do you want to ban those too?

I'd love to ban cigarettes. Disgusting habit with absolutely no benefit to society. Smoking has been banned in public buildings throughout California for 26 years and even beaches and parks. You can't even smoke in bars here. I'm all for this.

When I was in high school there was a smoking area outside where kids could smoke. This is progress baby.

We will see how benign these things are when the studies start coming out in 5-10 years. Until then I am advising my son not to touch these things.

You want a ban on the thing that prevents what you call disgusting (it is) because it might be bad. It's one thing that instantly let me quit smoking cigarettes. Patch, gum, didn't put a dent in the craving. Day I bought my e-cig was the day I quit smoking. Immediately. Started seeing all the benefits of quitting on schedule as if I stopped smoking.

Of course you should keep your kid away from them, in the mean time, let us who are quitting tobacco have this until a problem is found.

You're wishing the cure to one huge problem causes another.

Do you realize how inept your thought process on this is?

let me guess. you are one of those that thinks nicotine causes cancer.

wait what?

:hmm:

first of all...what does that have to with comparing it to sugar and caffeine? If you are saying that nicotine addiction is not a top cancer-threat, then I simply have to say you are either trolling or hilariously ignorant.

second: sugar and caffeine are horrible for their own reasons:

nicotine is well on its way out, it seems, or at least at manageable population levels. The next big, and honestly real bug-a-boo is sugar. Diabetes is fucking crippling this country, and while that isn't so much an issue of cancer, it does not mean it isn't dangerous.

But well, you know, .....good luck wrestling that Krispy Kreme donought from Fatty McGee's hands. (no, seriously: those things are delicious)

OK, this thread is damn confusing.

Who the hell is arguing what, exactly?

I think we need to nominate an impartial judge to divide the various participants into 2 clear sides!

Cock Merchants: Promised, yet never delivered.

2015--Never Forget!

I submit the following for your consideration.

There's a fatal flaw in your analysis. Cock merchants were referenced not promised, Mr. Shify McGoalposts.

On to your unsubstantiated "promise", even if you consider the cock merchant a promise, the deal was "the dwarf lives until we find a cock merchant."

He's still alive, ergo no cock merchant has been found, leaving room for said promise yet to be fulfilled. Note: just because I'm considering this awful line of "logic" doesn't mean I concede such a ridiculous a promise has been made and yet unfulfilled.

A Cock Merchant was mentioned in the closing dialogue of episode __whatever that was__.

It is noted in canon that, in the closing action of any cliff-hanger-scripted content, material in the closing action must be addressed upon the following episode, if not soon thereafter.

It is now inconceivable that such cock merchant will appear, what with power of kingdom now backing our potential cock merchant patron.

If such details are disregarded by both writer and director, is it not said that offended viewers are entitled to one trip to King's Dominion with the actor/actress of their choosing, for one day, and 12 comley lasses of virtue true?

Also...Hitchcock totally demanded of all of us: If we see that gun in the first act, that shit sure as shit better be in play by the end of the 3rd act....motherfuckers.

A bunch of haters waiting to confirm their suspicions while asserting the moral high-ground? That's how witch hunts work.

I already see people latching on to studies showing "dangerous chemicals" and such while completely ignoring that too much of anything can kill you (the dose is the poison) and that manipulative people will exploit that to scare you. Everything is "dangerous chemicals," even the purest of pure water.

Alright, I'll give you that.

By the way, if you're vaping to quit smoking, how is that working out for you? Seems to me you're just replacing one habit with another... one you really don't know anything about.

And boom. That's exactly how this shit should be handled.

What? Really? In fact, we know quite a bit about it.
I mean, let's just start with the tar content versus cigarettes: 0 vs not 0. That alone is a huge benefit. Should we get into the other chemicals that we know are in cigarettes that have various problems?

I am, and it's working great. What makes you think I don't realize I'm substituting addiction?

It's vastly cheaper. I had immediate health benefits. Long term is obviously a bit unknown, but I'll deal with a handful of ingredients that are fairly well know vs. the hundreds of known toxins in cigarettes.

 Good for you. I started smoking when I was in my teens but quit in my early 20s. The longer you smoke, the harder it is to quit.

Hope you can give it up for good eventually.
