You're a bad caricature of white middle America.
Why? Because I don't buy some poli-sci mumbo-jumbo about why a photograph is "significant" when the only reason it's a story is that a lot of people wanted to see pictures of anything and everything even remotely related to Bin Laden's death? To go through the mental gymnastics needed to torture a historical theme out of this picture is laughable - but that goes for most poli-sci and most pop-contemporary history "analyses".

Obama's election? There's a story about race, identity, power, etc. A photo of people watching TV? No. In statistics it's called overfitting: convincing yourself you see something that's not actually significant because you torture the analysis until you're mistaking noise for actual content.

Nothing surprising about the usual fluff drivel in support to the dear leader. This time he actually did something good, so it's a great opportunity to heap even more praise on him than the customary amount.

This piece was really pathetic and a stretch. It is talking about how it is a snapshot of how view is changing in this country on issues of race and gender. Yet the example it uses to prove this is a picture with 13 people, 10 who are white males, 2 women, and one black. Wow, if there is a self ownage scale from 1-10 on editorials. This one has to be near 10.

Self ownage indeed. I'm sure people like eskimospy will be here shortly to explain to us that the whole liberal media fawning over the dear leader thing is just a figment of everyone's imagination and that this piece was just a strong actual factual analysis showing the greatness of the dear leader rather than left wing drivel.

You act like this is something unique because it is this President.

Remember how the press failed to do their job when it came to reporting on the reasoning for going into Iraq before the start of the war. They just went along with the Bush line and the "we gotta git us somebody" mood of the country. Sometimes the press has a tendency to take the easy road if it gets ratings.

No doubt that's true. The press didn't do their job as we built up to Iraq, but afterwards they quickly soured on GWB and took every chance they got to trash him. Sometimes deserved, sometimes not. Now the press is absolutely in love with BHO, has been since his speech at the DNC back in 2006. He can do no wrong, and when he does something right, look out, it's the second coming.

I would tend to disagree about the do no wrong since the press was divided on going into Libya

CNN trys to blow him.

Fox News trys to fuck him up the ass - but, they are doing it because they want to prove to the world that Obama is gay. It's like that scene in Harold and Kumar 2, there the prison guard considers the inmates gay,... for forcing them to suck his dick.
