As has been pointed out repeatedly, the process works like this-

Per both the DoJ & the State Dept, the SOS & others have the right to delete emails they deem to be personal from the official record. There never has been any oversight in that regard. That's true of documents as well. It was entirely at their discretion, always has been. It reflects the level of trust placed in them by Congress & the Chief Executive when appointing them to that office. That's particularly true for any cabinet member- past, present or future.

Mere fact. Assertions to the contrary have no basis in reality.

When a FOIA request is made, the State Dept in this case reviews that official record, removes information deemed classified after the fact if there is any & releases the information.

Just the way it is, like it or not. That's subject to change by legislation, executive order or a SCOTUS decision, of course.

Yeh, I thought it was incoherent when you diverted into information recovery from failed drives when there are no failed drives to deal with even as you asserted that nothing can be recovered from properly wiped drives. What was the point, anyway? Blowing your own horn?

I'm actually surprised that the drives weren't wiped when the server was retired, something quite customary in private enterprise.

I only ever recall talking about various methods to recover data from an improperly wiped RAID array by method of controller emulation on individual drives. Hey, just because the woman is a sociopathic lair, does not preclude her from being POTUS. On the other hand, if the SOS during this time were Dick Cheney, the libs would be calling this the political crime of crimes in the history of the US. If a Bush Foundation raised tens of millions of dollars from foreign leaders, while he was President, they'd be calling for a special prosecutor. It's not the crime, it's who the perp is.

Candidly, if Bernie doesn't win I'm very likely going to decide to leave the US. I MIGHT stomach Trump, but not due to integrity - I think I'd be willing to give him a chance because he's the only other person running anti-establishment, which is simply the only way I think our country will survive.
