McSame says he stands for everything both Hillary and Obama oppose. If you don't believe me, ask her.

The 2000 election was close enough that Nader's influence may have handed it to Bush. Are you really sure you want four more years of the same disastrous policies?

If you throw the election to McSame for your hissy fit, you should hate yourself down the line. The rest of us won't think much of you, either.

This should prove to be interesting indeed come November.

What with the legions of die-hard Conservatives who won't vote McCain and the Hillary-lovers who won't vote Obama...

Of course, that is assuming they all stick to their word. I'm guessing the vast majority will not, handing Obama an easy victory.

Several called McCain their hero and said they planned to vote for him despite having supported Sen. Hillary Clinton in the primary.

"I'm a Democrat," said one woman. "But we're not happy with the choice of Senator Obama. Give me a bipartisan ticket ... give me something to work with to switch. I will vote Republican if you can give me a reason."

Sounds like the political version of a highschool bimbo's backseat request- "Tell me you love me, then you can fvck me".

I'm sure the McCain campaign will oblige. they'll ultimately deliver much the same kind of bipartisanship that we've witnessed from the Bushistas- at least where it really matters.

What is all this about, anyway? Was this support for Hillary just some misguided cult of personality? Or can her supporters recognize that real issues exist, and that Obama's POV is a helluva lot closer to Clinton's than McCain's? You know- the war, the budget, reproductive rights- little things like that...

Well, I doubt that McCain would put even Lieberman on the ticket, so there's almost no chance of a Dem being his VP. His conservative base would never allow that to happen.

From alphatarget1-

Why does it matter when Dems will increase their control in both Senate and the House and they can just filibuster any "unreasonable" nominee?

Because the Court will still function with fewer than 9 justices, and those most likely to retire or pass on are the more moderate ones...

With the exception of Scalia, the younger members of the court are the more right-wing. They'd become the outright majority in a seven member court scenario... Because Dems will likely lack the power to break a senatorial filibuster anytime RSN, it's in repubs' interests to block any nominee not to their liking. We won't see anybody like Earl Warren or Bill Douglas nominated anytime soon, bet on that. OTOH, a McCain presidency would see more nominations along the lines of Roberts and Alito, if not justices even more conservative...

Exactly.

HRC fans need to get a grip on reality and maturity because they face quality of life issues for themselves and the country.
I have said it before and it bears repeating, many people (as can be seen in this thread) treat politics like sporting events. Crying over their last lost and hoping some other team beats the guys who just beat them.

Look no further than THIS WEBSITE, started for HRC fans, but immediately after the primary all 3200 members started backing McCain.

I really think Obama needs to ask HRC to specifically address the issue before FOX news and others, give these attention whores an overdose of their drug of choice, and it begins to swell out of control.
