I think he meant stock man, besides, a decent looking wing doesn't add much weight, nor does an exhaust tip. And don't say the exhaust tip thing is an import tendancy, I see numerous Stangs and Camaros around with cheezy ass tips

As for exhaust tip, I'd rather have a 2.5" exhaust with extractors straight through, and no cheesy arse 4" chrome tip on the end that adds the 'legendary" 50+ hp. But each to their own

I'd take a larger exhaust any day as well, I could care less about the exhaust note. The only kind of engine I'd wanna show off soundwise is a V8 or a V10 (Viper anyone? )

Yup, nothing like the sound of a big, nasty ol' V8. Specially the older ones, lately all new cars have been sounding awefully crap. I hate those 'airy' V8's. Nothing like the rumble of a '69 Stang or a 351 (old one)...

When you take that Focus up to and in excess of 4000mph, the wing actually become functional and provides downforce!

But really, this is just a bang for a buck thread.

IMO, I'd rather have a 95 Toyota MR2 Turbo that would smack the crap outta any year SI, any V6 Mustang or Camero, and give the V8s a nice run for the money. Just me tho.

There are alot of sleeper cars out there that aren't rice, aren't muscle - Take what I'm looking at right now for example -

'98 Ford Contour SVT

Runs ~15.3 in the 1/4, but its a 4 door sedan with leather, cd, moonroof. Fast enough to beat the girlies in their 6cyl mustangs and cameros, but still a family car.

Alot of people get extremely biased and it creates the animosity we see. Personally, I've seen Civics completely stomp everything at dragstrips and I've seen Mustangs do the same. As for rice, Its a completely legit term but it doesn't apply to SI's, Preludes or any factory variant of import cars that is sporty. It applies to a kid sticking a shogon body kit to his brand new Civic DX.

Again, just my 2cents.

Well if you don't want it to die then you have to spice it up a little...

It really depends on peoples definitions of the word rice. When I see a stock '00 Prelude with a 17yearold driving it, I look at it to see what the kids done to it - and its usually something along the lines of -

Clear tails and side markers
Hyperwhite headlights
Go-fast Stickers Q)

That is rice. No performance, its all show and no go. Now, add AEM Cold Air Intake, DC Headers, GReddy SP exhaust, ect, then the car is running mid to low 14's in the 1/4 mile (My friend has almost that exact setup ^) and its not rice, its actually fast.

Well I agree with you somewhat Radeon. I don't think superwhite headlights and clear corners are rice. Cause I hate the freggin amber turn signals, and yellow-looking headlights. So I would most certainly add those to my car. But I would also add an AEM CAI, DC Sports Headers, and GREddy SP Exhaust... So I guess we all have out opinions. Because I am not gonna have the fastest car around but my sh!t looks ugly. I am also big on looks as well as performance. I can't just do one without the other.

I took a '00 Contour SVT out for a spin when I was looking at cars a while back. I wanted to drive that car home that night, but alas, it wasn't the right car for me at the time

I needed something with a hatcback and/or high hauling capacity

I would love to own one at some point in time later on though

Oh yea and as far as altezza's go. I can say that I don't like them all, but there are some out there that actually look good on some cars. But some of them have corny lookin parts, or just aren't made right for that particular car. I however want to put these new carbon fiber altezza's on this Integra I trying to buy. I think if your Integra is black, these will go perfect on them. Check them out...
