How is it that you type?
(Not trying to be mean or anything, but I'm curious...)Can you still talk? Is it done vocally, or through that tracking of the eye thing I heard about a while ago?

Christopher Reeves scares the hell out of me. I would run away if he came wheeling toward me.

His injury is way higher than mine. I can breath, talk, etc etc. I can feel and move normally down to about my nipples. My biceps are normal, triceps are weak, I can lift my wrists. Fingers don't work, but I can manipulate them to do quite a bit, including type. I can drive a properly adapted car, and fly an airplane with assistance. I can write, too.

I really love the response that this thread has produced.... because thats exactly what the site is about. Maddox writes extremely offensive, politically incorrect articles and then waits for people to comment on them. The fan hate mail he gets is dissected point by point and insulted at the most trivial points. Yeah, he writes assholish things, but by reacting to it you are just falling into his trap. Its really just a charade...and a damn funny one at that.

To some extent, you have to write off reeves as just another person whose interests are very personal. look at ted kennedy and his desire for healthcare reform. its not because ted gives two cents about you or me, but one of the kennedy's has had ongoing medical problems and so the royal family has a vested interest.

i agree with the post that says you can't compare reeves to mike fox. but then fox had a long time to adjust to his disease. when he shot one of his movies down here in florida, he was quite the party animal, more college kid than responsible philanthropist. but at that age, so were most of us. the thing about fox, is that he is more of an everyman, and so its more credible that he could care about those around him than reeves.

don't discount the hollywood effect on reeves too. i mean, its not everyday that someone plays a superhero at an early age. that stuff has gotta go to your head. his persona has been anything but an everyman, and one has to think that may be because he's never seen himself as such.

but in the end, it irks me as much as anyone that these celebrities try to hijack us with their special interests. if you want to start a foundation and try to solicit donations, fine. but don't be asking for my tax dollars.

thank you and have a nice day.

Necessity is the mother of invention..or haven't you heard?? Mabe Reeves wants may by your future needs. He certainly didn't expect to be in the jam he's presently in. So what do you think?? Reeves can be Iron Side in a remake of the old Raymond Burr series??

I luv Maddox. Not 'that' way but in a kinky, perverted way. No that didn't sound right. In a weird fetish kinda way. Oooph thats not sounding any better either.

Anyway....I luv him because of all the stress and angst he puts all the of the hardline asshats, diety wannabes, I'm in your business, no you can't have any fun, POSs through.

Edit for grammage.

Simple: because he's selfish. Reeve didn't give a sh!t about paralysis before his accident, but now that he's paralyzed, suddenly he opens up a paralysis foundation and cares about the plight of cripples? Where was his foundation in '95 when he played the role of a man with spinal cord injury?
I have to agree with this guy.
I've thought the same thing since he became so "active".
