Let it be known that these guys do not speak for the majority of Christians. Some of us are still scratching our heads over why they do stuff like this...
Of course, the vast majority of Christians aren't whack jobs.

They believe in a magic sky fairy who gave birth to himself, sacrificed himself to absolve the sins he himself bestowed upon us and returned as a zombie. Yeah, they're all whack jobs.
Case in point. Bigotry is alive and well and socially accepted today just as it was in the past especially in the Southern US. Bigots have no qualms about saying all blacks are lazy or all Christians are whack jobs....they're totally unaware of their ignorance and the ugliness within them. Stereotyping and using that stereotype to rationalize demeaning other human beings is flat out wrong. It's OK for other people to be different than you...you may not agree with them and that's OK. But you've gone well past that...I'm sure you're a good person...but you may want to rethink things.
Yes but seeing that 85%+ of Americans are Christians it's ludicrous to state that they are a discriminated group in America unless you are stating the Christians discriminate against each other.

Christians are human beings...human beings discriminate and are far from perfect regardless of their race, religion, etc.

Being a majority makes you immune to discrimination? Tell that to black South Africans.

Get my point yet? Bigotry is the enemy. It's a reflection of incredible ignorance and intolerance towards people who happen to believe or look different than you. Agree. This post is nothing more than throwing that which is ridiculous to YOU into the center ring, pointing, and laughing. This decision doesn NOTHING to affect anyone on this board other than the public humiliation of a group they object to. Bigotry is a good word. As a Christian does it offend ME? Meh, not really. Did you read the OP? The point of this thread has absolutely nothing to do with that. It has to do with fundamentalist christians boycotting things they don't agree with, and then complaining about boycotts when they are used against them. It's hypocrisy that's being mocked here, and rightfully so.

No your being the buffoon claiming that those in power who are almost all Christian are being discriminated against and then you used the S.A. Blacks and Aparthied as some kind of bizarro example.

It is just too bad that one extreme is the only counter to the other. There is no doubt in my mind that selling via prurient sex or other sick appetites further degrade the already enormously degraded psyche of Western people, but caught up as they are in cultural elitism, they are blind to the situation.

Sex is sacred. In the West we turn it into shit and we fantasize we are liberated.

I was with you until the "sex is sacred" part. Tell that to all the other animal species that were humping long before we dragged our knuckles out of the muck. There is certainly nothing "sacred," i.e. God-given about sex, as humans are in no way uniquely sexual beings. Just look at the other great apes (Bonobos especially) and how they form sexual connections, and how many bird species form life-long monogamous partnerships.

Being complex emotional beings, however, we invest a lot of mental capacity into the sexual act. We're not wrong to do so, but it does complicate the issue in a unique way.

The issue here is the cheapening of sex, and there is no fine line between understanding sex for what it is, and cheapening it for marketing purposes. Any religious group hijacking a naturally essential behavior that has been around long before any mythical deity was ever created is simply blowing hot air. I can get behind the dumbing down of good taste that has been prevalent in the marketing industry for many years now, but there is no violation of anything uniquely Christian (and certainly not sacred) here.

So who's discriminating against them, other Christians? I guess that's possible, just look at N.Ireland.

Not in situations like in Aparthied S.A. or even Iraq but that situation doesn't exist in America, not even close.

Not just the majority, the vast majority. Ever here of a person not being served and given a job because solely based on the fact they are Christian?

Yep. Go to the Northeast, happens all the time.

And christians make a much smaller part of the population that whites, yet whites get discriminated against all the time.

The point being, none of this excuses bigotry.

Dude I live in the Northeast and I've yet to see that happen and I know that you haven't seen it first hand yourself.

Also your statement that Christians make up a smaller segment of the population than whites is bullshit. You think White People are the only ones that are Christian?

If the same group of people who backed Proposition 8 and were also involved in the GoDaddy protest?then those particular individuals would obviously be hypocrites. However, I very much doubt that is the case here. It appears that we have 2 separate groups of people acting independently of each other. If this is the case, no hypocrisy found and we have another example of how human reason is impaired by their false stereotypes and bigotry.

To clarify my point, let's say one group of Democrats favor gay marriage while another group of Democrats doesn't?does that make all Democrats hypocrites? Does it make either one of the groups hypocrites? No and no?we just have two different groups of people who happen to have different beliefs?be they part of a group called Democrats or a group called Christians for that matter.

BTW I'm one of the few Atheists I know of personally. Almost everybody I know, members of my family, friends and acquaintances, are Christian. Obviously I'm not the bigoted one but in all fairness neither are they as they accept me for what I am.

dude... add "wreck" to the end of your name.

This thread has been a complete disaster, it started from a funny post about hypocrisy and you have ended up comparing U.S.A. Christians to both 1930's german jews and Southern State African Americans. Watching this thread progress makes my head hurt and at the same time I feel a very deep sense of pity for you.
