I didnt (in case you missed my first explanation) compare it to the holocaust, I comapred it to 1930's Germany. A point at which no one was running around killing Jews, or even physically hurting them, just slowly building that antisemitism and bigotry.

Guys, I wasn't comparing it to the Holocaust, just to the plight of Jews in Nazi Germany! For the historically challenged among us, throughout the 1930's large scale government sponsored elimination of Jews from all aspects of public life were undertaken, prohibiting them from getting decent medical treatment, marriage with non-Jews, from owning businesses, or from participating in society in general. As early as 1933 Jews were being incarcerated (and some killed) in concentration camps such as Dachau. Kristallnacht was in 1938, a large scale pogrom in which more than 200 Jews were killed and thousands more injured.

Yeah, that's just like people talking trash about Christians and their hypocrisy.

Well, you see how Christians only have a 80-90% minority in this country, its very easy to see how oppressed they are.

Your trying really hard to talk around my point. How do you think it started?
What's your point? Is it that a subset of Christians who happen to be whack jobs are within their rights to boycott Go Daddy? I agree and I and others of all faiths or lack of faiths are well within our rights to mock them for the fucking hypocrites they are.

Comparing them to the Jews and the Jews plight during Nazi Germany in the 30's is why you are now being mocked.

Not really, replace Christian with Jew and you have 1930's Germany. That's not a strawman, thats fuckin history.

An entire country didnt just wake up one day and want to wipe a group of people off the face of the earth. It started with mild shit like this.

"Mild shit" like what?

Dude, he just equated people talking shit about Christians to the Nazis and the ensuing Holocaust. It does not deserve the dignity of a response.

How do you think the anti Jew sentiment in Germany started?

If Christians want to boycott something let them. The bigotry 'Doc Savage Fan' was referring to should be avoided. And if you cant figure out why you have bigger problems.

it did not start with people poking fun at backwards fundamentalist jews, i'll tell you that right now.

When I first read this post, I was thinking about making a funny joke about how pointless of a post this was. More hyprocrits in the world, wow what an amazing concept. There is not a single person in this world who hasn't been a hyprocrit (99.99999% chance).

I now look at this 3 page post that has degraded to comparing the current percieved "plight" of christians to the plight of the 1930's german jews where they were being denied basic humanitarian rights.

Wow? really? you guys are either some exceptional trolls or just dumb as bricks.

I'm not talking around your argument actually, I'm more just making fun of you. Your argument doesn't deserve a response, because as I mentioned earlier it is absolutely ridiculous hyperbole.

That's why everyone else is making fun of you now too.

It's that Martyr card thing they are so fond of playing even if it makes them look foolish.

You and Doc Savage Fan are the ones who don't get it. Absolutely NO ONE is saying that Christians don't have the right to boycott. HOWEVER, they make themselves look like hypocrites when they whine about BEING boycotted.
Death threats count as a boycott now? hmm, now who's making a stretch again?
Is that clear or should I throw in some more caps?

you need to throw in a brain first.

I can't believe you're still digging this hole. You seriously thought you could come on here and throw out the claim that there is widespread discrimination against Christians (equivalent to Jews in Nazi Germany) in a country that's probably 80-90% Christian?

Death threats from a few wackos != gas chambers. This thread was about fundamentalist Christians crying foul about organized boycotts against them after Prop 8, and then throwing down the boycott card at the first opportunity (over something as lame as a "risque" superbowl ad).

This. My sister-in-law, who uses GoDaddy for her start-up, considered switching providers after the DP ad.

It wasn't the boobies so much as it was the poor taste.

ZOMG, half a boob sorta kinda may have been viewed by a non-breast feeding adolescent under the age of 18, we're all gonna die! Call it "bigotry" if you will, but being that uptight over the human body is freaking ridiculous.

I couldn't care less what they boycott.

Or anyone boycotts for that matter.

Does this describe you? Christians should not be allowed to have opinions nor express them unless they conform to my personal belief system. They should be viewed collectively as scourge to society and demonized for expressing their beliefs. Public ridicule is socially acceptable. Bigotry against blacks is reprehensible...bigotry against Christians is perfectly acceptable. Racial stereotypes of blacks is reprehensible...religious stereotypes of Christians is perfectly acceptable. Derogatory and denigrating remarks against Christians is acceptable based on the actions of a few. Christians are inferior people.

Get my point yet? Bigotry is the enemy. It's a reflection of incredible ignorance and intolerance towards people who happen to believe or look different than you. Creating stereotypes to justify demeaning another human being is wrong. And if you think otherwise....you are no better than the very racists you despise. Wake up for crying out loud.

Christians, playing the Martyr card since year 1:thumbsup:

lol

Yeah, but if it was a lactating boob with a baby attached to the naughty parts, you'd have no problem with it. Am I right? I can barely restrain my shouts of "boobie discrimination!" Either all boobies are good, or none are!

They have a right to boycott like anybody else, who cares. Let the market decide. If there are enough of them that the money makes a difference to goDaddy, they will change. If not they won't. I hope you're suggesting any other course of action be taken?

Do you explain to your daughter about the brain injuries that the men are incurring while ramming into each other? I suggest you check out the latest study on this...quite disturbing (although who thought otherwise that isn't a moron?)

Of course, the vast majority of Christians aren't whack jobs.

They believe in a magic sky fairy who gave birth to himself, sacrificed himself to absolve the sins he himself bestowed upon us and returned as a zombie. Yeah, they're all whack jobs.

There is no doubt in my mind that selling via prurient sex or other sick appetites further degrade the already enormously degraded psyche of Western people, but caught up as they are in cultural elitism, they are blind to the situation.

Sex is sacred. In the West we turn it into shit and we fantasize we are liberated.

Case in point. Bigotry is alive and well and socially accepted today just as it was in the past especially in the Southern US. Bigots have no qualms about saying all blacks are lazy or all Christians are whack jobs....they're totally unaware of their ignorance and the ugliness within them. Stereotyping and using that stereotype to rationalize demeaning other human beings is flat out wrong. It's OK for other people to be different than you...you may not agree with them and that's OK. But you've gone well past that...I'm sure you're a good person...but you may want to rethink things.
