I believe there is more outrage about this than Islam wanting to wipe all non-believers off the face of the earth. If these Christians said that they were going to wipe all GoDaddy employees from existence would it be OK then?

Not really, replace Christian with Jew and you have 1930's Germany. That's not a strawman, thats fuckin history.

An entire country didnt just wake up one day and want to wipe a group of people off the face of the earth. It started with mild shit like this.

"Mild shit" like what?

Dude, he just equated people talking shit about Christians to the Nazis and the ensuing Holocaust. It does not deserve the dignity of a response.

How do you think the anti Jew sentiment in Germany started?

If Christians want to boycott something let them. The bigotry 'Doc Savage Fan' was referring to should be avoided. And if you cant figure out why you have bigger problems.

They should be viewed collectively as scourge to society and demonized for expressing their beliefs. Public ridicule is socially acceptable. Bigotry against blacks is reprehensible...bigotry against Christians is perfectly acceptable. Racial stereotypes of blacks is reprehensible...religious stereotypes of Christians is perfectly acceptable. Derogatory and denigrating remarks against Christians is acceptable based on the actions of a few. Christians are inferior people.

Get my point yet? Bigotry is the enemy. It's a reflection of incredible ignorance and intolerance towards people who happen to believe or look different than you. Creating stereotypes to justify demeaning another human being is wrong. And if you think otherwise....you are no better than the very racists you despise. Wake up for crying out loud.

Man, this post is a ridiculous straw man even by the standards of ATPN.

So, some guy named Harrell claiming to be a Christian makes a fuss about something and this translates into the whole "Christian nation"?

That's more than a stretch. You can always find someone willing to complain about almost anything, no need to extend that to so many people who aren't even remotley related to them.

Technically I never used the H word. but way for everyone to jump away from a losing argument.

So are you completely unaware that the OP was referring to Christians' hypocrisy in boycotting others while decrying boycotts against themselves? Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, brother.

Try actually reading posts before you reply to them. Kthx.

Persecution and Protesting are two different things.

And its quite a stretch to assume the guy who pulled his accounts from GoDaddy is THE guy behind Prop 8. Get real.

Let it be known that these guys do not speak for the majority of Christians. Some of us are still scratching our heads over why they do stuff like this...

So now persecution is when someone protests Christians, and protesting is when Christians protest someone else.

Nowhere did I imply that the specific person who pulled the accounts was a hypocrite because he personally was being boycotted due to Prop 8. We are talking about fundamentalist Christians as a group.

You attempted to compare people talking shit about fundamentalist Christians to the Holocaust. It's absolutely ridiculous hyperbole, and it destroys any hope of someone taking your argument seriously. If you want to make a point about bigotry, my suggestion is to make it without using absurd and wildly inappropriate examples.

Oh, and Godwin's Law does not actually require you to say "Hitler", "Nazis", or "Holocaust". It merely requires the comparison, which you really obviously made. So as other people mentioned, you already lost.

You and Doc Savage Fan are the ones who don't get it. Absolutely NO ONE is saying that Christians don't have the right to boycott. HOWEVER, they make themselves look like hypocrites when they whine about BEING boycotted.

Is that clear or should I throw in some more caps?

I didnt (in case you missed my first explanation) compare it to the holocaust, I comapred it to 1930's Germany. A point at which no one was running around killing Jews, or even physically hurting them, just slowly building that antisemitism and bigotry.

Death threats count as a boycott now? hmm, now who's making a stretch again?

Guys, I wasn't comparing it to the Holocaust, just to the plight of Jews in Nazi Germany! For the historically challenged among us, throughout the 1930's large scale government sponsored elimination of Jews from all aspects of public life were undertaken, prohibiting them from getting decent medical treatment, marriage with non-Jews, from owning businesses, or from participating in society in general. As early as 1933 Jews were being incarcerated (and some killed) in concentration camps such as Dachau. Kristallnacht was in 1938, a large scale pogrom in which more than 200 Jews were killed and thousands more injured.

Yeah, that's just like people talking trash about Christians and their hypocrisy.

Christians: WAAAHHHH!! Your advertising doesn't match our incredibly messed up set of morals. You care more about money than us. We're going to leave if you don't change your ads!

GoDaddy.com: Well, BYE!

/GoDaddy.com goes back to counting money on all the new accounts their ads brought in.

/Christians go pout in the corner like an emo kid.
