There are some people at my gf's church who are actually like that. It's frightening. I have no problem if they believe in God; it's just as possible as anything else, but to completely ignore evolution and stuff like that is pure close-mindedness.

As for the Big Bang theory, Christians ask, "Where did the universe come from?" When atheists say, "We dont know," they say "Well, only God could have created the universe." But I ask, where did God come from? It's the same question. Neither side can explain where what they believe came from.

You say that people ignore evolution, but thats exactly what all the evolutions do to Christianity. I am a Christian (as most of you probably know) but before I really became one I considered all the possibilities and really gave it alot of thought. Now Im not saying what I believe is what you should believe, in my opinion everyone has a right to believe whatever they want.

Just because Christians don't believe in Evolution doesn't mean we are close minded. Because it really works both ways. Evolution and Christianity both require a matter of Faith because neither have been proven. So why is it ridiculus to have faith in one thing, but not the other?

you mean SOME christians don't accept Evolution as a fact, and others don't see it as incompatible with faith, Christian or otherwise.

whats sad about it is the kids dont ever have a chance to think for themselves..their parents just force their beliefs onto the kids.

aren't these the people that keep their children from modern medicine? the "if their faith is strong, they will live" school of medicine. pretty convenient since if you die, well.. your faith was just too weak :)

1st Place: "My Uncle Is A Man Named Steve (Not A Monkey)"
Cassidy Turnbull (grade 5) presented her uncle, Steve. She also showed photographs of monkeys and invited fairgoers to note the differences between her uncle and the monkeys. She tried to feed her uncle bananas, but he declined to eat them. Cassidy has conclusively shown that her uncle is no monkey.

Wow first place! Good job little one!! You're on your way to become another pawn of the Christian religion!

I guess that proves I'm a monkey since I eat bananas.

I'm Christian and don't believe in the Big Bang.

I have nothing wrong with science, just don't believe in all of it.

I (probably obviously) haven't researched the Big Bang too much. I don't understand how matter can come from an explosion of nothing...and how did the explosion happen? Where did it come from?

I honestly think it takes more faith to believe in the Big Bang then to believe in the Bible.

Ah, here's where MY Christian beliefs fit in. You ask "how did it happen, where did it come from?" my answer: God. Simple enough IMO.

Personally, I like the explanation in this article about Alan Guth's theory on where the Big Bang came from: Article.

2nd Place: "Women Were Designed For Homemaking"
Jonathan Goode (grade 7) applied findings from many fields of science to support his conclusion that God designed women for homemaking: physics shows that women have a lower center of gravity than men, making them more suited to carrying groceries and laundry baskets; biology shows that women were designed to carry un-born babies in their wombs and to feed born babies milk, making them the natural choice for child rearing; social sciences shows that the wages for women workers are lower than for normal workers, meaning that they are unable to work as well and thus earn equal pay; and exegetics shows that God created Eve as a companion for Adam, not as a co-worker

HA HAA! that's great.

I think the people who still think that site is real are the same people who click on those fake-error-message banner ads!

Those so called "fake error message" banner actually helped me out by telling me I have a virus and that my computer is not running at full speed.

Hmmm...some of those are plausibly "science" in a general sense, but others are simply ridiculous and have a underlying political message or are just there to poke fun at other people with no tangible research, drawn conclusions based on evidence, etc. done whatsoever.

This sort of makes me think that early Christian theologicans who actually sat there and PROVED their theological theories based on available evidence are turning over in their graves.

I feel so bad for these people.

1) That they are taught this stuff
2) That they actually believe it

They take their religion and science so seriously. Check this out: propaganda

I was gonna bust a gut laughing. These people are so retarded. I think I'm going to show my chemistry teacher this. He is likely to flip out at how stupid these people are!

I have verifed proof God does not exist. I checked absolutely every phone listing/directory in every place possible in the world and there was no God found.

Therefore based on my "scientific research" God is either dead or never existed. He would be listed and more easily found his this were not true. :)
