A true "fundamental right" pre-exists a government's legal recognition of it. Many people believe that it is circular reasoning to claim that this "right" over another "body" exists just because of Roe v. Wade. If you believe that one exists here, you must ask yourself: Is the fetus not also entitled to the same right? Why and, most importantly, when? That is what it boils down to and drawing the line earlier than that (@"fundament right") is just ignoring the true issue being debated. Any time someone makes it out to be a purely religious vs. intelligence argument, I know that they have ignorantly made up their minds and are refusing to acknowledge the true position of the other side so that they can insult and belittle them instead of having true, meaningful, constructive, discussion.

So, according to you, science doesn't say that conception is the point at which an individual like, say, you or I, first became an individual with a protected human life. It doesn't say that birth is either. Both are non-arbitrary points in a human's development, but the point where "birth" occurs and life continues can happen over a large range of the child's development, so you can see why that would be the controversial "non-arbitrary point" to choose. An arbitrary choice would be between, say, just randomly choosing between second and third trimester without any specific developmental event to classify it as a protected human life with rights of its own.

Considering i spent 35 years living in NYC before i moved to colorado... i know more about fried chicken than you've forgotten.

Best Store Fried chicken was Pudgies.

In my opinion, Atheists that fly off the handle at the mere mention of God are no better than the raging religious types who fly off the handle at the mere mention that God might not exist.

It is retarded. For some reason random people on the internet truly believe that have any sort of factual evidence for the taste of a fucking chicken sandwich :biggrin:

On that note, I never get one that often. But Chick-Fil-A works with most of the campus activity groups here, so we get them from the store about 40 miles away and then can buy them here from the fundraiser for $5 with a soda and chip bag.

Works for me and damn tasty IMO compared to the campus cafeteria.
 
Chick-fil-A is... okay, but with Canes restaurants all over the place here, there's no reason for us to even think about going to Chick-fil-A. The only Chick-fil-A I know of around here is in a mall, which is probably the only reason it can stay in business.

Little known fact: Chik-fil-a didn't just invent the chicken sandwich, they invented the mall food court in 1965. Before they forced the issue and proved that it was a success, developers thought it was a terrible idea because "no one" wanted to eat where they shopped. Yeah, before that they jumped to that conclusion/assumption just because it wasn't the norm yet ("seems weird") and, thus, let circular reasoning prevail.

I'm saying that they aren't as good as this thread makes them out to be and that there are better options, at least here. They're not bad, I wouldn't turn down their food, but they're not that impressive.

Four of us from work went there when they had that free spicy sandwhich. The conclusion was unanimous: Meh.

I did go there fairly often when I was at school because it was the best option.
