in the online comparison i found, the mcdonalds product was smaller and more expensive. the flavor was different, but close, with chik-fil-a having a more fried chicken flavor. haven't had the mcdonalds myself.

Not sure about price, don't eat much of any Fast food. But they are both about the same size, within 1/2 ounce. Chicks includes the lettuce and other items. McDonalds only includes the pickles. So actually they are the same if you added he same otems to McDonalds.
That is comparing the Southern McDonalds to the Deluxe from Chick. If you use the regular Chick sandwich then the McDonalds is much bigger.

McDonalds = 8.7oz
Chicks Deluxe = 9.05oz
Chicks Regular = 6.3oz

Look up free market principles. If I paid a price I agreed to pay for a good or service, I am agreeing that it is an appropriate price FOR THAT SERVICE. This does not come with the assumption that they make no profit and can't spend it on something. In fact, it comes with the assumption that they WILL make a profit and WILL spend it as they see fit. Thus, anything they do with it is NOT "directly" paid for by you unless you considered it before deciding to eat there and either chose to eat there or chose to pay more SPECIFICALLY to support their causes.

Franchisee's agree to it. They can affiliate with a different brand/chain if they don't like it. No one is forcing them. Obviously, they think it's a good deal or they wouldn't do it. What's your point?

So what. Closing on Sunday was once a cultural thing for nearly all American businesses. Just because they are the last major fast food chain to observe it isn't damning. They obviously respect the Christian tradition, but many non-Christian businesses do it too.

Umm, a regular CFA sandwich does not have those things and that is precisely why the McDonald's one doesn't. It's a copy of CFA's classic "bun, patty, and pickle slice only" presentation.

I'm a proud Christian, I said all that in an attempt to get the large number of Atheists on here riled up. If anything I'll eat CFA more than anywhere else because I'm religious and love what they do to help out. CFA for teh wins. My posts were inspired by a friend I went to CFA with years ago, he's a hard core Atheist and went ape shit crazy when his sons happy meal came with a Christian themed toy. He looked over and saw his son playing with it and BOOM. I thought he was going to go get a gun and shoot up the place, it was the funniest thing I've ever seen. I asked him if he had noticed the Christian radio station playing in the back ground since we got there. He frowned and got up and left, free waffle fries for me!

I don't think he's ever gone back.

I really couldn't care less if Chick-Fil-A gives money to some local Christian groups. You might as well stop going to your local supermarket too because I'll bet they donated some money that found it's way back into some religious organization. That goes for pretty much any other organization.

I've never given it a second thought that they were Christian, which I knew. Loving and socially tolerant Christians are fine, fine people with whom I have zero problem. Jesus was about acceptance and inclusion. He was an activist liberal progressive, you know.

It's the dark, angry, cramped, ugly, old-testatment based hypocrite haterz that can go fuck themselves, imho.

So, if true, I am sad that the owner gives to Focus on the Family, which is an intolerant, gay-bashing, right-wing political action group. I hope he doesn't give a major amount.

From everything I know, I don't think Focus is the owners' major, errr, focus. It seems he is more a humble, true Christian in my eyes.

CFA is at the apex of fast food restaurants of its type for quality of food and quality of service. The extra expense is well worth it. I will continue to eat there when the mood and opportunity strikes, which is not often, as I am not a big fast food guy of any type.
 
I never saw this thread turning out the way it did. This thread was supposed to honor the tasty sandwich known as the chick-fil-a spicy chicken, instead we are discussing Jesus Christ himself.

Haven't tried Hardee's new tenders but I'm loyal to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zaxby's. They have the best fast food chicken tenders IMO and fry everything in peanut oil like Chick-fil-A. Both restaurants are normally clean which I also like.

I'm partial to Chick-fil-A because I grew up eating the stuff since I lived right next to Hapeville growing up. I've eaten at the original Dwarf House in Hapeville and also at Truett's Grill which is basically sit down Chick-fil-A diner. I've met Mr. Truett Cathy several times and my friend's mom is the personal secretary to "Bubba" Cathy, one of Truett's son. I think key to their success is they stayed private and closed on Sunday.
 
chick fila rocks. their food is 100000% better than any other fast food joint out there. i'd gladly pay an extra buck or two for better service and good food. everyone else can GTFO out of this thread!!!
 
That's what In-n-out have and CFA have in common. Your order is repeated to you in clear English, by someone who is at least pretending the enjoy their job.
 
CFA may be more, but it's definitely worth it! For 11.11 bucks I get: wrap combo (drink, fries) + a spicy chicken sandwich. That fills me up well past dinner time.

There's a reason just about every CFA is packed to the brim for meal times. Food rocks, service is good, and the places are clean. I don't give a hoot what they do with the profits. They don't generally try and promote anything openly so I've no problem with it.
