I'd love for them to come into NY,.. but, douchery will reign supreme.

Instead of people not going in, there will be pickets and protests.

Given the OP's trolling history, this is the direction I suspect he hoped the thread would go. I propose we don't give him that satisfaction.

I like their breakfast over most any other fast food place, but their coffee sucks. Lunch is pretty decent as well for a quick meal. At least their places are always quite clean and generally nice enough to be in. I typically get the wraps, but those can be hit or miss depending on the store and a tad expensive. The new grilled chicken is a nice improvement over the old, not sure exactly what they did to it though.

For what you get though I think it's pretty reasonable. Plus I've heard they treat their employee's decently. Seems to be working since they are quite profitable.

Their biscuits are delicious. It's a good thing I'm not closer to one or I'd have Chick-fil-a breakfast a lot more often.

They never did "hate." That was just the impression given by runaway media (including social media).

The founders believe homosexuality is a sin, but they love the "sinner" with "brotherly Christian love."

I thought it was more than that... I thought they donated money to organizations that actively opposed gay marriage.

Love the chain. ATL has the best branches since it is so close to home base but South Florida always delivers.

There is a reason they are consistently packed down here for lunch. Amazing food, service, franchisees. It is a much more rigorous process to co own a store with them. Keeps the rich jerks who just want to open a franchise and not actively manage it.

Ive had Chick fil a once, and it tasted the same, or worse than what I would consider average fast food chicken. I really do not get the appeal, BK makes much better chicken sandwiches.

My opinion is pretty much the same. Only had them once-on a road trip to Wash DC, where we specifically drove out of our way to check out Chick Fil A. I thought it was overpriced and greasy, average chicken. Comparing it to BK chicken is overly harsh-I'd put them in the KFC category (acceptable on rare occasions).

lunch and dinner? you guys talking like they serve diff foods at lunch and dinner time...do they? They are still pretty new in my area, I've only been there 3 times, all because someone gave me 3 free chicken meal cards for being one of first 100 customers on their grand opening day.

In other words, they donated money to Christian family organizations who also have Christian values and don't "hate" gay people. The organizations were not centered on opposing gay marriage though some were as "active" as any Christian family organization with a political opinion on the matter.

Focus on the Family, for example: I have always hated them, but I grew up around Focus on the Family books, radio programs, and cartoons, and such stuff and I can't recall any anti-gay hate. I don't even recall them talking about gay marriage because it wasn't a political hot-button issue yet. The organization took no more extreme a stance than Obama himself, who still publicly opposed gay marriage in in 2011. Suddenly a Christian organization simply expressing their Christian values is a "hate group?!" Bull.

They wanted you to believe "it was more than that," but it wasn't. Take your blinders off and you'll see that it was just a media rail-road.

Lunch/dinner is the same. Breakfast is different.

BK chicken sandwich is likely processed in China. The chicken patty is nasty prison grade quality made with mashed up meat/by products.

Chick fila uses real chicken breast. The stores are clean and the customer service is the best in the fast food industry. They also have all the condiments in packets. They even have throwaway plastic table cover for babies and small children. Chickfila should be the model for every fast food restaurant. I just wish the company wasn't private so I could buy their stock.

And they typically have the foot and elbow pulls on bathroom doors, so you don't have to touch them with your clean hands

Of course the Christian founders and operators oppose gay marriage. They believe it's a sin. It doesn't mean they "hate" homosexuals.

They're religious and the religious organizations they support are in-line with Christian ideals. What else do you expect?

Around here, they are very popular with the church going crowd, they are packed during diner time and on Saturdays (they are closed on Sundays for church).

When you said "thank you", they would always reply "my pleasure". Their chicken sandwiches are decent but pricy, the stores are clean and well kept and racial make up (employees and customers) is like "Mayberrytown".

The owners of Chick-fil-a funded the Family Research Council which in turn funded Christian candidates in African elections, candidates who called for capital punishment for people found to be gay/lesbian. The owners of Chick-fil-a were made aware of what their money was buying and chose to continue their funding of the Family Research Council. That was the issue.

There, we went there. The OP can be proud of his troll.

That's not entirely true. Chick-fil-A donated millions to anti-gay groups over a period of 6 years.

Chick-fil-A has donated over $5 million, via WinShape, to anti-gay groups that oppose same-sex marriage. Of this, more than $3 million was donated primarily to Christian organizations whose agendas included positions that are anti-gay, with the money donated between 2003 and 2009. A total of $1.9 million was donated in 2010 to groups such as the Marriage & Family Foundation, Exodus International and the Family Research Council (FRC). That year, the FRC, which received $1,000 was listed as an anti-gay hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. WinShape has also contributed to Christian groups including Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Exodus International, the latter noted for supporting ex-gay conversion therapy. In response, students at several colleges and universities worked to ban or remove the company's restaurants from their campuses.
It appears though that they have reversed this position and no longer donate to anti-gay groups.
In September 2012, The Civil Rights Agenda (TCRA) announced that Chick-fil-A has "ceased donating to organizations that promote discrimination, specifically against LGBT civil rights." Chick-fil-A officials did state in an internal document that they "will treat every person equally, regardless of sexual orientation.” In a letter from Chick-fil-A’s Senior Director of Real Estate, the company states, “The WinShape Foundations is now taking a much closer look at the organizations it considers helping, and in that process will remain true to its stated philosophy of not supporting organizations with political agendas.”
According to Chicago Alderman Proco "Joe" Moreno, Chick-fil-A has a statement of respect for all people regardless of sexual orientation in an internal document called Chick-fil-A: Who We Are. A document released by Chick-fil-A on September 20, 2012 does not mention any organizations opposed to same-sex marriage as being part of Chick-fil-A's donation base. WinShape Marriage will continue to be supported financially, with a stated focus on couple retreats to strengthen marriages.
Sounds like a bunch of fluff if you ask me.

I haven't eaten there in more than a decade.

They have not been supporting the 'hate' nor 'anti-homosexual' groups for quite some time now.

Their statement was they did not know those groups full mission.

The public never forgets it seems and never remembers the full story.

Lots of black people work at my local CFA. All employees there are clean, courteous, and friendly.

My main gripe with them is I can't get the spicy chicken sandwich grilled. They told me it would be 'too hot'. Let me be the judge of that!

I never understood the love for Chick-Fil-A. It's okay but for the price I'd go somewhere else first.

Their waffle fries are most excellent. I've been trying to replicate them for the last year with no success:

http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2375116

I think the key to their great texture is having a thicker fry, but still with holes in the middle - that makes it a bit crispier than just a no-holes waffle fry, or a thin-cut waffle fry with holes that doesn't have enough thickness to really bite into. This is a very delicate process y'know ;)

The spice is in the breading. There's no spicy sauce added to the spicy chicken sandwich. Nothing for the employees to add to the grilled sandwich to make it spicy.

That's a much better explanation than 'it would be too spicy'. Thanks. Guess I'll just start getting grilled and get a bunch of the buffalo sauce they use for nugget dipping. It's tasty too.
