Hey HBD, do you think your cat would like to team up with my dog to rid the world of voles and moles?

Sounds good to me! We could make them capes though I doubt spandex leggings would go over well. BTW, those are really great pictars of a beautiful dog.

Thanks, HomeBrewerDude! The dog nixed the idea of the spandex, but said how about they partner up as the:

Masked Marauders :)

MrLee, thanks, we think the chowhound is a pretty cool too.

deerslayer, the dog's mother was a white chow mix, and the father was a black, white, and brown hound and shepherd mix.

All rodents can die as far as I'm concerned. They spread disease, go into your food, and populate like no other.

Songbirds do that annoying singing thing in the morning but they seems to survive a lot better than rodents anyhow.

When we lived near the beach my dog used to go fishing all the time. He used to stand in the shallows perfectly still waiting for something to pass by, then pounce on it, sort of like a bear. He also wasn't opposed to wandering up to families eating chips and burgers... 'aww, what a nice dog, someone give him a bit of meat'... ten families later he'd return fat as a sumo pig.

Now he's 12 years old with an aggressive cancer in the bone of his front left shoulder - no more hunting for him :(

I had a cat named Kitty Nipples who used to bring home dead baby kittens.
That sumbitch was insane with bloodlust. Awesome cat.

Maybe he was just acting out the will of God for every time you fapped. :p

Well, my in-laws are in town and i think she is showing off for them because the carcasses have been piling up! My father-in-law has been pretty impressed by her productivity.

My families late cat, Banjo, was amazing. She'd hunt with all fours. When you'd play fight with her (my dad would grab her face and shake her around, because she didn't have any play mates) she'd approach him sideways, and lunge with all four legs... She did the same with animals outside. She did get her ass kicked by a little red squirrel, though.

Our two current cats are indoor cats, the neighborhood they live in now is too dangerous for cats. Surrounded by dogs with bad trainers, a highway and some crazy conservative nuts with rifles. Yes, they've shot other peoples cats before, but seem to have no problem with letting their dogs crap in our yard... :p

Anyway, that cat is adorable.

I cracked up when your sitting cat had the rabbit in front of it at its feet and gave a soft "meow".

Our idiot neighbors' cats get in our yard and raid the finch and blue jay nests we have. This scruffy black one is the worst. :|

Last time I barely missed it with my shovel, but I'm getting closer!

Looks like Missy isn't catching the chipmunks like she did last year. Maybe she put a drastic dent in the neighborhood's chipmunk population.

I've had two bunnys brought home, one by the scruff of the neck unharmed, the other was a newborn and I had to take it out of it's misery as it was bleeding and dying :(

I love cats, I'll get one as soon as I settle down and finish traveling. However, my comment wasn't that cats will devastate the 'entire' songbird population to the point of extinction (nice straw man Amused ) nor will they perpetuate the elimination of rodents in an area.

They simply are indiscriminate killers who don't stop to say "hey, that's a common sparrow - time for supper!" and "that looks like a threatened Cerulean Warbler, quite rare in this region; I'll let it live". They catch and eat anything available which can; as previously mentioned, contribute to the elimination of particularly vulnerable songbird populations.

My cat satisfies his killer instinct by jumping on my rib cage with every ounce of weight and all the momentum he can gather when I'm asleep, bastard...

We never let our cat out. While she still has claws, I suspect she'd be a really great hunter if she were given the chance.

Right after we moved into our new home I was unpacking the kitchen and she found a really large stray moth (the kind with GIANT wings) and was chasing it around the kitchen. I almost stopped her but figured I'd let her do whatever since she never got to go outside. Not more than 30 seconds later I look over and she's washing her face licking her lips. On the floor next to her was the corpse of the moth, all mangled and twisted.

hehe Wonder if those wings were tasty.....
