I saw my folks cat chase a possum up a tree, the possum gave him a swipe on the nose that made my eyes water, and he backed off pretty quickly

My Siberian Husky (may he RIP) used to play with opossums in the back yard. At night he'd find them, and as they played dead, he'd just roll them around and crap.

And I suppose I should be fair about the issue. He once ran off and ended up some guys gamecock (he raised gamecocks, which is illegal afaik). We found him eating it in someone elses yard.

But yeah, its pretty bad when the cats have been doing it for months, and done it many many times yet the owner does nothing to fix the issue. He just told us "Let your dogs chase them off." Yeah, that works well...

My father in law did trap the neighbor's cats and in the good old days, the animal control people would pick them up:) I wish I still had that cat trap.

We had a cat like that until it lost a fight with a car. :(

Now, we have 3 new cats, one with all claws and they haven't done squat. My wife on the other hand killed a field mouse by flushing it down the toilet (it was stuck in the bowl). Does that count?

My cats have gotten slack in their old age.

As recently as 2 summers ago, I was getting 1-2 dead animals a day delivered. Even brought a small, live snake into the kitchen once. (the wife loved that)

I guess they are getting old. My main hunter is now 10, and occasionally he fights with something and comes in with wounds, but he seems to have lost interest in hunting at this point.

He plays fetch with those tamper-evident rings that come on milk jugs, though. Beat that.

My cat chases frisbies.

My cat loves those damn plastic rings from milk containers. One of his favorite toys.

Those rings are solid gold kitty fun. Loop a rubber band on one around here and watch out! Cat attack!!

Killer will chase a ball across the yard, won't retrieve it, though , little bastich... that would be video gold.

When my cat first came to live with me, she caught and ate half a dove and left the other half at the foot of my bed and waited patiently for me to get up and acknowledge it.
she was sitting off to one side , all pretty like, just staring at me as if, "well?". LOL

At least your cat can kill something... my dog can't even kill a mouse that's already dead :(

Our Siamese, Temple, killed and ate a Mockingbird baby out of the nest and then took out the adult, who was swooping on her.

I saw her this morning with a lizard. Tossed him over the fence, and took her back inside.

No cats here - my mom and I are both deathly allergic to them :( My parents do have a little Westie, though, and it's perfectly capable of keeping up with the neighborhood cats. Brings down at least a couple full-grown birds every year. Still has yet to catch a squirrel, though.

I think declawing a cat just makes them more skilled in attacking/killing. My cat wasn't playfully aggressive until she was front declawed. Shortly after being declawed, she learned how to grab things with her paws. Anything from paperclips to fingers to my dog's face becomes gripped and tossed to the ground now. It's almost like she's adapted from claws to near-opposable digits. She's also pounces full force/weight on things she want to attack. It's funny watching a 10lb cat topple a 22lb Dachshund and occasionally my neighbor's Lab.

A cat that always trespasses into my yard started killing the baby birds which were living in the lamp post in my front yard. They were just learning to fly. The threat was neutralized.

I figure if the catowner never bothered to keep their cat contained, they're not going to mind the fact that someone else cares for it now (I gave the cat to someone else).
