I was about to hop in the shower this past sunday when my wife came in there to get me to come outside. She was getting back from her walk was looking up this tree in our front yard. This tree has a hole in it about 25 feet up where these snakes just love to hang out, so she thought that she would check it out. Well, she didn't see it hanging out the hole so she just went on looking at her plants and stuff that she planted at the base of that tree, she then said that she seen the snake climbing up and down the tree as if it were on the ground, with ease! I knew that snakes could climb, but damn you should have seen how easy it was crawling up and down that tree, it was amazing.
Anyhow, I am not a fan of snakes in the least bit, and having a 3 year old little girl, I am not going to have a snake crawling around *ANYWHERE* near my property. So I grabbed a dowl stick about 6' long and gave the snake a smack it would not forget, it fell to the ground and I threw it out in the open a little more where I really let him know how I felt of him being there.
I know most of you wont care, but I thought I share some pictures of this thing. I know I'm going to catch some flack from some of you saying "why the hell did you kill that kind of a snake, its harmless" & "it wasnt doing anything to you", but like I said, snakes are not going to be around my place where my little girl plays outside all the time.
The thing turned out to be SIX feet long, was HUGE! (IMHO anyway). I got some stills of it with my digi cam, if I was thinking I would have grabbed my DV and shot some video of it crawling on the tree.
Anyhow.. here are the pics. The reason that I am showing so many pics, I would like for someone to tell me what kind it is. The head on him was triangle, and I heard that meant they are poisonous... please inform me!
