Who said anything about there being any sexual attraction here? They hung out, that's all.

in that case without sexual attraction. Then there is nothing wrong with it as explained by 91TTZ (works for the same sex part)

not for the opposite sex

Is she hot? Pics STAT!!!!

Also, why did nothing happen? You're supposed to play dumb and say, "You don't have a boyfriend....quit joking around....." When she actually takes the bait, accuse her of being a cheater.

I couldn't have said it better myself!

Since you're the only one geographically close to the original poster, do us a favor and slap him on the back of the head for being such a stooge!

I will keep this short as people hate long thread.

I am close with our student at work, we spend a lot of time together and there is a lot of harmles flirting going on.

Last Friday, we spent the evening together, we went out to eat, hung out around town a bit and then went back to my place to watch a movie. There was no physical contact involved.

Now, I am single but she is not. To this, my coworker says she is cheating (his girlfriend concurs), but I say it is not.

Vote away so I can rub it in his ugly Anandtech reading face. (he is reading this post now)

wow, must be difficult to date you. ANYTHING could be considered cheating if it's not time spent improving the relationship.

I say no. It's perfectly fine for men and women to be friends.

that case is practically a date already
friends don't do a one on one with so many events especially when at least one party is attached.
where is the line drawn then between friends and lovers?

So if I go to dinner and a movie with my male friend, does that make us gay lovers?

Why would it be any different if my friend happened to be a female?

I know it's a hard concept for jealous boyfriends to handle, but women can have male friends that are just friends.

exactly, I know my g/f and her female roomy that also has a b/f has invited my friend over to watch a movie when I was out of town because they like him as a friend.

Do I feel threatened by it or pissed off? No

The Original Poster forgot to add that a stroll through the petstore followed their dinner out.

That is very much a "couple" thing in my book. (I don't take my guy friend for a stroll in the pet store)

Not that you need to worry. Good reading comprehension skills are non-negotiable.
