I just ordered 30 for a linux general purpose lab that I'm putting together for our high school. Hope they work out. I'll post any comments I have after they come.

Got mine today, no dead pixels and it's very light. The rear is surrounded by large vent holes so dust accumulation may be a problem in the future.

Damn, I hate it when there's a dust accumulation in my rear's large vent hole. :disgust:

I ordered one of these monitors for use as a secondary.

Mine just came. I took a gamble and bought 2 to replace my old 17 inch crts.
Well first, they were found at my door, almost as if they were tampered with. The box was like mangled! Who knows.
Setting up was a breeze.
Only issue is that they are VERY low. Like the base gives them NO HEIGHT.
I ended up putting them on top of some speakers I had. Making them roughly, a good 6 inches higher off the surface of my desk.
As far as quality goes, viewing angles, as previously said, are horrible. Just deathly horrible. However, its not an issue for me, I was never particular when it came to quality of LCD screens. However when I do have the time, I will get a 20 inch widescreen by dell. I'm assuming that I will want to take a hammer at these Soyos after seeing a Dell next to them.

Color on these things are ok.
Brightness is off. So is contrast. Its almost like I cant get a good setting at all.

The frame of these bad boys are CHEAP. My second monitor is slighty cracked open near the top left hand corner. Whatever.

THE GOOD:

No dead pixels.

Haha. If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask!

I wonder how hard one of these would be to hookup in a car? I was thinking about putting a Xbox in my car for XBMC. Running the audio inputs to my sound system for Mp3's(mostly). Also getting a wireless Logitech Controller. This sounds like the cheapest possible way to get MP3's to the car not to mention DVD player and games.

Sounds so much easier to.

It would look like an asshole, stretching 640x480 to fill 1280x800 won't be pretty. You're better off getting an actual console/headrest LCD with RCA/S-video inputs.

got 26 of the 30 i ordered today. the other 4 are coming tomorrow. I think these are going to be great for the school lab I'm using them for. Especially since they are 1/2 the price! I hope they go on sale again so that I can buy 4 or 5 of them to mount to our work bench to hook up to computers we are working on. I've only tested one, but it works. Not the best picture in the world, but for ~$75 shipped you can't beat it!
