same size as my inspiron 6000 laptop screen, so it shouldn't be too bad. Will make for a great family room monitor.

hey pinion did you make sure you selected ground shipping, that seems a little high for their shipping, normally between $8-10

No ground to Alaska (apparently we are now and island) + $10 fee for AK orders. Still a good deal.

The only way to get reasonable shipping to Alaska is via USPS, which they don't offer.

only for light weight items (1-3lb) is USPS a good deal, otherwise their $/lb is higher than UPS/Fedex

Well, I'm in for one as well. Darn you "Hot Deals". I've got to learn to stay out of this Forum before I go broke!!

Probably not. They're technically not affiliated yet, though hopefully moving towards that. The website and the stores are seperate entities and will charge different prices and run different deals. Something on the web is not always going to be available in the store, or for the same price.

I just put my order in. Darn that tax :( Did anyone else have to pay it? Or am I special because I'm in AZ?

its like a reg 12.56 inch 4:3 ratio

.82 x the 4:3 size = the widescreen equil

So to get a similar height in widescreen this would need to be 19 inchs roughly

wider but way shorter but that price is great and i might have a use for one

that .82 is used for a 16:9 and 4:3 and this looks like my laptop. Wider but not a 16:9 but it could be the picture i looked at

That looks exactly like the X2GEN MW15A that I bought from NewEgg last week. They're probably made by the same OEM, and sold under both brands (and perhaps others). Frankly, I recommend against buying it -- even for the low price of $69. Viewing angle is very bad, black levels are very poor, and the controls are extremely low-quality and annoying to use -- bits of the plastic frame have been 'sliced' out leaving adjacent bits of the frame that are slightly flexible and need to be pushed inward to activate the controls (sometimes need to be pushed several times before it recognizes that you're using them). Sort of a fake 'button'.

It IS a very low price and if you need a very cheap LCD I suppose it'll do -- after all it does display an image -- but don't expect much.

If I'm wrong and it's not the same monitor, then disregard everything I just mentioned and order a Soyo! But still avoid the MW15A! :)

I've had to pay tax in IN.. :( Argh. Justification... Nope. Not gonna do it. I REALLY wanna, it'd be great next to the treadmill mounted... or on the bench, but I have a ton of 15/17 crts that are perfectly fine! :)

Exact same specs as the screen on my laptop (a Toshiba model about 2 years old). Colors are good, Contrast isn't great, it's not super bright, and it probably Ghosts a bit. However it's be great just for a spare monitor.

No tax, and $9 shipping to Colorado. I'm tempted to buy one just for the hell of it...

The pixel size kills it for me, though. I don't like working of my laptop screen all that much (although i do becuase I travel) because the pixels are small.

Mine'll be showing up on tuesday or so next week. I'll be sure to post back with my impressions of it. I'm not planning on using it as a main monitor by any means, but it'll help me finally get rid of some of my huge 17'' CRTs I keep for my farm.

I ordered mine last night and the current status is:

In Transit
Est. Delivery Date: 10/27/2006

So at least their shipping seems to be decent.

I'll post my impressions of it hopefully tomorrow night, if anyone cares.

BobDaMenkey - ever hear of kvm's?

Specs from the Xgen model... power usage is only 25 watts. Maybe the Soyo has a better backlight??? I'm really thinking about picking one of these up as a backup monitor. The only thing holding me back is the chance of getting a 17" or maybe even a 19" for close to the same price on bf. Some google work listed response times as either 8ms or 12ms... so it would at least appear to be a fairly modern panel. Anything under 16ms has always been okey dokey to my eyes.
