I smell a scam.

Now why would you say that? Newegg (the most highly regarded vendor on these forums) moves prices up and down ALL of the time, and no one calls it a scam. These are decent disks for the price (whether 12.99 or 15.99).

i wouldntsay decent,they are ofaverage quality meaning it is easily scratched and it has reading problems after 3gb. i've burned quite a bit of coaster, at least 5 out of 10. if you call that decent. some call it garbage grade d, lmao.
to sell low quality media for more then it's worth is silly at best. i thought they were alright but after burning 50 and having 25 to play frisbees proves that i was wrong about media quality.

4TH CLASS MEDIA
Pathetic garbage media, landfill material, about 0-50% success rate:
CMC, CMCMAG = CMC Magnetics (Taiwan) = (-R)
PIODATA, PIO = LeadData, Ritek = (-R) ... once sold as "Pioneer" but that's false
Fake TYG02, SONY, MXL = Fake Sony/Maxell from Hong Kong OEM (Infosmart) = (-R)
OPTODISC = Optodisc = (+R)(+RW)
AN31, AN32, ANWELL, AN30, AML = Hong Kong OEM (Infosmart) = (-R)
INFOSMART = Hong Kong OEM = (-R)(+R)
DAXON = BenQ/Acer (+R)(-R)
VANGUARD = Unknown OEM = (-R)
YIJHAN = Hong Kong OEM = (-R)
MATRIX = Hong Kong OEM = (-R)
ISO001 = Unknown OEM = (+R)
VDSPMS = Unknown OEM = (-R)(+R)
LONGTEN = Hong Kong OEM = (-R)

first of all i don't like silver disc, they're plain laquer, meaning it's basic coating meant for casual use like if your dog ate it or a kid ran over it, who cares? the white printable disc are harder to make, easier to write and often have better quality writing due to its reflective coating. silver=see through, it's a miss and hit burn. quality greatly degrades on the outer layers that are closer to the leadout.

fyi, I never get a chance to try +r for 12.99 that crap shoot up back to 27.99 the same day I saw this post! it's a bait and switch crap :(
this pisses me off because +r is just a format and shouldn't cost more. it isn't better quality either or have better compatible. btw, i see thetechgeek employees or it's affiliates trying to lure in users to buy their undergraded media at slightly discounted price.
ifyouthink 15.99 for100 is a steal, it's not. everyone get this intheir email already if you subscribe to their mailinglist!

Please do not put words in my mouth. I did not use the word "steal", I said "decent disk for the price". I have burned about 40 of these (dash-R), and have had no coasters using my Benq 1620 and Nec 2500. If you are having bad luck, then you either need a better burner, or you received a worse batch than I received. The scan tests are fair, not great, the transfer rate tests leave a little to be desired, but movies recorded on these discs play back perfectly on my settop player. No, they are not in competition with Taiyo Yuden, but what did you expect for 13 cents (or 16 cents) per disk?
