Cheap DVD-R 100pk $12.99 shipped *DEAD*

it is a bad idea you must always research the manufacturer or if that isnt known try and research the history of the vendor as they may have a history of selling that vendors products...buyer beware

well just received both 100pks, The DVD+R's get read errors at the end of the dvd media code ISO 001. DVD-R's are A OK, Burn @ 8x no problem, no errors, but i get a UNKNOWN media code.

Uh, I ordered some.

You want mine?

Yes, they were that horrid. Half of them were scratched up along the outer tracks of the disc and I got all kinds of read errors. I have a NEC 3520A + latest firmware, and haven't had many problems with any other media.

I will never buy TheTechGeek house brand media again. Just shows you really get what you pay for.

These media are incompatible with some burners such as Sony, Liteon... These two brands are the worst anyway that needs quality media to burn ok. I have tried these with Optorite, Pioneer, Nec, not a problem. So just because its not compatible with all burner doesn't make this media crap or worthless. Oh well, if you guys don't buy it in a week or so, I'll grab them all for myself. What you got to lose? A penny saved is a penny gained! So be smart and wise up.

Very cheap media, should I grab 500 or 1000? lol. Why haven't anyone ordered? I've got it to burn ok at 8x and the quality is not as bad as most thought.

Edit: The +r now cost 27.99 🙁 but the -r is still 12.99
So some people did order them? This jackup in prices has me reconsider making +r purchases. hehe. Price vs demand?

Actually the -R's work great with my Liteon 811S. I haven't had a coaster yet.

That is not an indication that it was a good burn. You may not be able to play it later as i tried myself. I suggest you buy a new burner such as Pioneer, Nec 2xxx, 3xxx, Opotorite, plextor in order to burn these type of media correctly. 12.99 for 100pk for is a steal. btw, my liteon 812s burner can no longer burn any media I put in including quality ones, goes to show you that it is a crap burner and becomes useless later on. I have used only for 6 months, thought it can only read dvd, that all I need it for now.
In the beginning it can burn all media without any coaster but it is so badly burned that even the liteon itself have a hard time trying to read off it after only a week.

just ordered some... will post again when i recieve them... appears they have been sending out different batches according to the reviews on their site.

Trader, the +r are no longer valid for 12.99, it is now 27.99. Please update your thread whenever you can. Thanks.

The +r for 27.99 is considered a hot deal on thetechgeek main page, lmao. marketing?

This one of the best deals I have found for generic media. They ship within 24hrs and often same day if ordered before 12pm. Cheapest I found is 31.88 for 200 pcs at pricewatch and they take 5 days to ship out my order. What can I say, I am very pleased. Have made another order of 500 pcs... all for 64.95

shopampm.com was where I use to buy my generic media's from. media code for shopampm's housebrand was leaddata01... This one is skc co., ltd. Burn them in less then 10min, flawless so far. Not one coaster. A few had a little coloring smearing but still burned well.

I got 3 packs of 50/pack from Stapples few weeks ago for $6.99/Pack (Stapple brand of 8X DVD + or -R) and there was a public 12% coupon on top of that!

Just FYI, I've ordered 500 pcs of 4x dvd-r from shop4tech as well with 10 percent discount 76.50 total. The media code is TGY02 aka Taiyo Yuden, white top printable. What can I say? Am I lucky or what? I can burn these sucker at 12x on my nec 3520a in less then 6min30sec!!! Woohoo! 🙂 I am very happy!

a fake would not burn at 12x reliably, plus I burned 2 so far and scanned them for quality and it's very good 95 percent score! nice! did speed scan too went from 6.65x to 16x without any hickups. and these were sould as 4x, lmao!
maybe i gotton lucky, maybe these are their standard grade for 4x being sold today.
The white printable dvd-r are easier to write on and are more durable. This 12.99 deal is if you are really short on cash and need something to burn.
I've tried the silver disc skc co.,ltd brand from this thread at 12x and 16x, coaster every freaking time.

fakes?
but even at 8x i am fine with that, under 10min is not too shabby either 9min30sec to 9min45sec to be exact for full capacity burning 4.7gb.
