HOW THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO REMEMBER ALL THESE FUCKING PASSWORDS FOR FUCKS SAKE


My god I've had to go through password reset 5 times because I've either a. forgotten my password or b. forgot my username (had to change when wamu -> chase)

Can't duplicate any passwords what the fuck, I only got 5 "master" passwords and I've already used all of them up you fuckers. What am I supposed to write these fucking passwords down now? WHAT THE FUCK GOOD IS THAT

The only sure way is to post your password.
 
I changed my standard password to include a symbol, a number, and capital/lower case letters. Thought I'd be set. Then I run into these fucktards who say I need more than one number, and cannot have any symbols.

They're not bullshit passwords either, they're fucking alphanumeric 8-12 character passwords with random capitals that I've memorized over the past year.

this

the password at work resets every like 3 weeks

I now have a postit next to my monitor where I scratch off old passwords and write new ones.

How does this make sense, I have to change my pw every 3 weeks but a 5 letter (no caps, no numbers) works just fine.

before they made those reqs i used to use cusswords, hoping the admins could see the pws in a list. this was before i knew they couldnt see them.

i have 7 different "master" passwords, and ive had to update them all to include numbers and symbols. sux to have to re-remember stuff.

yeah, I've had to change my Chase password and name 3 or 4 times over the years. It's rather annoying.

...and the number must be buried between a non-consecutive series of letters of no more than 3 characters, and up to 2 non-numerical characters must be used, excluding : " ?/ > , { } ] | \ ...blah blah

I hate pw requirements. At Northwestern, we were required to change our password EVERY 3 FUCKING MONTHS!!!1111 and ^those were the requirements (including no previous password)

Hmmm... that means that Chase is keeping a database of all used passwords. Doesn't exactly sound smart or safe in any way.

I <3 WaMu and besides this PW thing have been fairly content with chase.

I'll be going to a local CU this afternoon.
Most CUs are part of a service network, you can access your account across the country as long as it is part of the network.

Chase can kiss my ass. :|

When I was working I used the same base word and added a derivation of the date on the end. XXXXX0509 would be what I would have used in May of 2009.

We couldn't use a duplicate password going back 10 months IIRC. This was a simple method, easy to remember and met their requirements. I used this format for login and a number of pieces of software too.

LOL - Our stupid voicemail system at work has some insane password requirements - minimum 6 digits, changed every 60 days, no reusing the last 20 passes, etc. All for that ~one voicemail I get each week reminding me to get some break or some shit.

Sometimes it's just fucking overkill.

Well, I was parked in one location. Plus, I worked for a mega corporation and my login would work from any computer in that corporation.
 
I keep all my passwords saved in a textfile on my PC.

Of course, the files are all within a double-encrypted Truecrypt volume that is not descriptively named. 😉


 
I keep all my passwords in a file on my external hard drive along with all my backup software/saves and complete image of my pc's hard drive.
And i never plug in that external hard drive unless i need to grab a file off of it or restore my pc.
And of course important data is encrypted.

Admittedly sometimes its a pain to keep the external hard drive's files updated as i go.
But its well worth the effort cuz theres no way on earth i can remember all my username and passwords especially when im forced to change them periodically.
 
and the best thing, this means they're storing your old passwords. and we know how secure that's been 😉


you know, in case you have a set number of passwords you would rotate through at your various log on places 🙂
