I will seriously throw-up in my own mouth if it is a pentium based system.
BTW, what is up with the 150 10k rpm WD hard drives? Are those dell exclusive too? Lol.

Yeah, and by the time games need that much power to play them, those 7800s' will be old.
in the original post's link to the article (on another site), it states that current high end XPS systems are $3-4000 and the quad 7800GTX setup XPS system will easily be double the cost.
n the link from the original post, it has a side view of the case with a signature on the case. anyone know who's signature that is?

Its intel based. Very sad. They overclocked the processor to 4.6 GHZ.
Hopefully, you can get these cards WITHOUT buying the Dell (any word on that?).
Dell is just putting together a system with the best and fastest parts available, no matter the cost. I cant wait to see how much it will cost.
I think nvidia has more plans for these cards than just for this Dell system...
Yeah, it's signed by Michael Dell and the Artist who did the paint job...

I must say, Dell's impressed me, and I never thought that'd be possible. True, Athlons would be better, especially dual core, but 4.6Ghz is still a top notch gaming processor probably on the league of any stock single core Athlon. Not to mention that while Intel's processors run hot and draw a lot of power, that negative is easily dwarfed by what quad sli will be doing. Talk about a space heater, that things probably dissappating like 600W of heat. I wonder what made Dell finally start to take the gaming market seriously. Of course, I think anyone of us would go for the cost savings associated with building your own PC, but if the only criteria is power at any cost you can't go wrong with this Dell. Of course, since it won't be available till Spring, that does mean the next gen of video cards will be out, seems silly to make a quad 512 GTX system when they can just use the top of the line nvidia card then.

This system will probably have a production run in the dozens, maybe hundreds if they're lucky. While this system is great for bragging rights, I doubt they'll sell much at such a high price. Then again, Alienware still exists.

Roger doger. I was completely shocked when I saw that Dell was able to build such a system. Who cares if it's a Pentium or an AMD, it's still the best of the best and that's all that matters. Dell is also a great company, and I recommend them to anyone who doesn't really have any computer knowledge. If you have the money to blow and you want the best, then what the hell? This is the best. Props to Dell.
Oh and btw, it's 4.26ghz, not 4.6![]()
