Celebrities and Climate Change

Over 100 private jets and mega yachts for the climate change summit. From what I've read they released over 100,000 kilograms of CO2 for their travels to the summit. Doesn't sound very green to me. More liberals saying to do as I say, not as I do. They're great at preaching what peons should do, but they're not too interested in making a lot of sacrifice themselves.

Luckily their doom and gloom predictions have proven to be bullshit so far. History repeating itself.

Tell that to lenders and insurance companies who are pricing climate change into their risk models now. When the beancounters are taking it seriously you should too.

If you want to make sure the rich pay for their high emitting ways I have a very conservative solution for you: carbon tax. No more externalities.

They should stop using extravagant means as should the government including AF1. A more economical version based on an existing civilian craft would be sufficient. Ban limos getting less than 30MPG, boats over a certain size etc.

Thanks for putting out the wretched excesses of the wealthy and powerful. Unfortunately the science backs up concerns despite trolls and ignorance rooting for the Greater Dying.

Outright ban some things in two years and ration others like we did in WWII, endorsed by conservatives if you recall. Politicians can hop an existing military flight for campaigns and vacations.

Remember when Al Gore said the oceans could rise 10' back in 2006, and then bought ocean front property?

Rich people prefer to travel in luxury! News at 11.

Seriously, how dumb is this post?

I have no problem with them traveling in luxury. I have a problem with them traveling in luxury to a conference to think of ways to tell us to cut back so humanity doesn't pollute so much.

I don't think you have to do that necessarily but moving aviation to a carbon neutral fuel would be a way to go. It's more expensive but the externalities of cheap petroleum jet fuel aren't sustainable.

What carbon neutral fuel do you suggest?

The problem is inertia inherent in any taxation. Eventually, perhaps in a few decades, things will change significantly and we're fucked all by then. That little insignificant asteroid is a pebble in the ocean compared to what ahead in the span of a human life which is comparatively where we are with climate. One more minute on the geological clock left. But there's a rumor Omar married her brother, and that's where it's at!

Suggestions for lowering the existing carbon load? We seem to be in a methane releasing phase which is self sustaining so we may have to go co2 negative in a big way.

I'd have to include anyone who produces a hundred or more times the median amount of CO2 celebrities or not. Trump, for example, is a full-time entertainer and sometimes Executive, who entertains with appointments of people to head the DNI who is a hack and has no clue, to the amusement of Slow and others. I'd include them too, but oddly there's no mention of those.

Does anyone other than GOP-bots actually care about celebrities when it comes to climate change?

I care a bit about the hypocrisy, but not so much about their actual effect on the climate. It's a mere drop in the ocean compared to the CO2 being produced by corporations.

Leftist celebrities are hypocrites about climate change. But Trump!

Do you know of any specifically that will not release carbon, are affordable, and can be produced at the levels required?

All alternatives are more expensive than petroleum products and they should be. Commercial aviation is being propped up by huge external costs.

birtherism 5.0 and climate change denial all in one sitting. This puppy is not right in the head. Isnt there a institute for mental health we should submit his case to? For his own sake and all.

Indeed. https://virtualglobetrotting.com/map/al-gores-house-2/view/google/

I think he is safe from 10' ocean rise. Although eventually he will have ocean front property.

How do you figure? Add tides, large waves during storms, etc. Simple fact is he was peddling lies for profit.

Let me put it in plain terms. The ocean rise didn't happen. It was another failed climate change prediction. Al Gore bought oceanfront property while he spewed lies you guys lapped up.
