Suggestions for lowering the existing carbon load? We seem to be in a methane releasing phase which is self sustaining so we may have to go co2 negative in a big way.

Direct extraction or probably more affordably biomass.

How do you figure? Add tides, large waves during storms, etc. Simple fact is he was peddling lies for profit.

Let me put it in plain terms. The ocean rise didn't happen. It was another failed climate change prediction. Al Gore bought oceanfront property while he spewed lies you guys lapped up.

You didn't click the link apparently. What you linked to was not his house. You tried to paint a picture that suites your view, which was a lie. He does not have "ocean front" property. Ocean views from the hill is more accurate. So 10' of sea rise would not harm his house. Thus it kind of nullifies your whole lie you tried to paint. Shocking, i know.

I have no problem with them traveling in luxury. I have a problem with them traveling in luxury to a conference to think of ways to tell us to cut back so humanity doesn't pollute so much.

Would you prefer that they purchase carbon offsets with their travel? Or travel via solar sailboat?

Hint: That’s what some of them are doing

ah yes, the magical externalities
Think of it this way since it seems too complex for you. The only thing stopping me from buying the property next to you and configuring my wastewater drain pipe to dump out on your property so that it flows into your water supply is nasty government regulations. Meanwhile, billionaires get to pollute our atmosphere with no repercussions.

Carbon offsets are bs. That's just the rich still using a huge about of energy and creating extra pollution while telling everyone else they must sacrifice.

Leftist celebrities are hypocrites about climate change. But Trump!

Yeah, that hardly matters. If someone says they are against murder and then does it, they are a hypocrite. If Trump thinks he can murder then does it he's not a hypocrite. Yeah, that doesn't matter at all. It's the harm done. Difficult concept perhaps.

Seems that giant algae farms might do it. Got to get on the stick pretty much now if we aren't already beyond the point of heading towards an irreversible new global equilibrium

Cement is a huge CO2 producer, much more than celebrities anyways.

Its no big deal a few celebrities fly around that's not the problem.

According to IATA, in 2017 the estimated number of commercial flights is 36.8 million, not including private, business and military aviation. More than 100′000 flights a day, well and truly. If you consider non-commercial flights, including unauthorized and non-tracked, that will be about 50 million per year.

Trump is the most corrupt president ever, has at least 10 counts of obstruction laid against him, and is caging babies on the border with his gestapo CBP.

Why is OP talking about shit that is irrelevant to the actual things making his life miserable?

So I can produce all the CO2 I want as long as I pay some poor schlep to produce a lot less? Great plan. Rich people will cruse around on their private jets and poor people can freeze in the dark.

You don’t really understand how offsets work.

You should have a bigger problem with a POTUS that says climate change is a hoax, yet applies for a sea wall at one of his golf courses citing....wait for it.....

CLIMATE CHANGE.

Who gives a shit about Ariana Grande

Now in your usual felating Trump defense you have a few choices.

Trump is lying now
Trump was lying then.
He was joking
Don't listen to what he said this is what he means

They should stop using extravagant means as should the government including AF1. A more economical version based on an existing civilian craft would be sufficient. Ban limos getting less than 30MPG, boats over a certain size etc.

Thanks for putting out the wretched excesses of the wealthy and powerful. Unfortunately the science backs up concerns despite trolls and ignorance rooting for the Greater Dying.
I heard that there is this new experimental technology called video conferencing. You can view and speak to people in far way lands as if you were in the same room. I bet one day it's going to really take off.

Corporate Profits again!!

Why? you ask?
Corporate Profits!!

Folks, that's all that matters.

Oh wait, celebs.

The hilarity of this is a lot to unpack.

First, individual actions are not going to solve climate change. The vast majority of carbon pollution is industrial/utility.

Claiming that celebrities use a lot of resources and thus this means they are either hypocrites or climate change does not exist is ;like claiming because fat people exist, there is no hunger in the world. It is irrelevant. It is a distraction. A whataboutism.

And ALL of this follows the tobacco company playbook on how to undermine science and sow doubt and turn a clear cut scientific consensus over a harmful problem into a political debate with sides.

And the right-wing are all useful idiots. Just like they were for tobacco companies.

Remember this? Just like the OP, good at preaching to others, not as good at doing.

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/tale-two-houses/

You still obsessed with Al Gore? What's your point? I don't care what Al Gore does, the science stands on it's own merits. That's kind of the point of science.

You don’t really understand how offsets work.

There seems to be evidence that they don't work very well. I've never been convinced they are a good way to address the problem, the risk of double-counting and imaginary 'savings' was always pretty obvious.

Struggling to understand the argument the OP is trying to make here. Because celebrities emit a lot of carbon climate change isn’t real?

Jesus Christ is that dumb.
"Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, small minds discuss people."

Slow repeatedly demonstrates that he doesn't understand the ideas behind the issues through his focus on people.
