Anyway, narc on his stupid ass. Survival of the fittest; he gave you a leg up on him, take it.

And because I feel like it, my philosophy is that if you can sell anyone out for your own good, you should do it with VERY few exceptions. You can trust very few people, very few people should trust you.
Two awesome responses...It'll be tough to decide which is the best of thread...

I didn't know you could take the recordings off a DJ. I looked briefly through musicmatch :( and didn't see anything that could to that.

For one thing, he would need to hire a lawyer and press charges. I doubt his parents would do that.

Second, they can do a statisical collusion detectionanalysis between their exams and catch him that way.

Third, did he access a computer to get her answers? If so, there is a record of it,

Nope, no computers were accessed, he just picked up the scantron.

Any help on drivers for the DJ? Although I think that uploading the files here may be wrong.

You suck at teh intarweb. Found them on dell's site in under 30 seconds.

Seriously I would ignore it. At the high school level even the teachers don't usually make a huge fuss about this kind of thing. The worst he'd get is probably a failing grade in the test and a spank on the wrist. If he somehow manages to make it to the college/university level he'll have his ass handed to him on a platter anyway. Not only will cheating there get you expelled instantly but there is just absolutely no way you can pass at that level through cheating.

I'll never understand why people need to "go tell mommy" or "go call the cops" about every little thing. Maybe you should try talking to him first, that is if you feel like you have to tell on him, at least tell him you think its wrong instead of going behind his back.

Its like those neighbors that call the cops instead of coming over to your house and asking for you to turn down your radio. I would have been happy to ablige, I just didn't know it was up so loud and could be heard so well outside the house. Now I will go out of my way to piss the neighbors off because I know who it was who called.

All I'm saying is, there's a reason why people hate "tattle tells"

Attitudes like this are unbelievable. I am a prof, and I would fail such a student if I found out he were cheating. You have an obligation to speak the truth on this matter. Anyone offended by a 'snitch' is and has probably been guilty of cheating.

I'll ask you this - where would such a thing end? If you witnessed someone getting beaten, mugged, or raped, would that also be a snitch? Why draw the line there? The problem with society today is the lack of morals, and not stepping up is just another example of moral cowardice.

spoken like a cheater ;)

so what if the OP is jealous... the kid doesn't deserve the grade, he shouldn't get it. talking to him first is not going to do jack sh!t, do you really think the kid will be like "oh golly gee, i hadn't thought of that... i guess i should stop!"

Why do you need to transfer it? Why not just take the dell DJ to the teacher and hit the play button?

Cheating happens everywhere in life. What you have to remember is that he might get a degree, but employers will know pretty quickly who knows what's going on and who doesn't. It isn't your place to narc out someone because you don't like him.

Cheating hurts everyone. You need to make a copy of it and anonymously drop it off at the principles office. It IS your business; his cheating hurt you just as much as the girl he cheated from.

It doesn't hurt him at all. He'll still get his grade.

It would if he's graded on a curve.

You should have had the balls to tell the kid who cheated how you felt, instead of recording his "confession".

Personally, if it were me, I wouldn't get involved. I'm Switzerland.

But since you had the audacity to surreptitiously recorded his confession, you need to grow some balls and confront the kid yourself, then turn him in.

There was an article in the papera few years ago about rampant cheating in engineering departments. It was described as a plague and included some very scary allegations.
cheating happens alot in engineering school.
The cheating that happens in engineering school is usually on assignments. The profs are well aware of it and they usually encourage "discussion" though not copying.

I've never heard of anyone cheating on an engineering final, those are monitored very strictly. Incidentally, finals are much more heavily weighed in the grading than assignments.

My teacher laughed when I told him to judge me against the pears.

Cheating is not wrong in any way. In my opinion, a creative method of obtaining scores like this should be rewarded if anything. Trust me, the real world does not reward people who play fair - cheating is often good practice as to how the real world works.

Good luck loser.

if you're gonna cheat don't be such an asshat and brag about it. that's the reason i'd turn his ass in. it's like he's proud of cheating, and honestly that kind of attitude sickens me. it's bad enough that he's stupid enough that he has to cheat to pass his tests, but being ignorant trash and bragging about it just deserves a smack in the face.

The only way is to have the scores which are the same as the girls.... so you have to let him take the test first. Then take the incriminating evidence to the teacher.
