Caught someone cheating on a test (unwittingly confessed into a mic)

The AP biology classes at our school are split into 2 class periods, 2 and 4. There's a girl in two who works ridiculously hard and (obviously) does quite well on the tests. We had a major test recently, and this completely scummy kid decided to sneak into second block while their teacher was out and everyone was on the computers, find that girl's scantron, copy the answers into notebook paper, then memorize those answers and use them on his own test.


Of course, he has a huge ego, so he tells me and several other bio students while we're in gym. So, today, we just asked him to retell the story while my friend was holding his Dell DJ at hip level. What we have is a step by step of how he ripped off this girl's test answers.

I wish I could upload the actual .wav, but the DJ isn't recognized by my computer, as I don't have the drivers for it.

So how do I go about this? This kid is an absolute bastage and needs to be taken down.

I say that your a pu§§y if you tell on him. Plain and simple. I mean, sure it could be wrong or what not (in your opinion), but who the he|| cares? Or are you just jealous now that he will get a good grade and didn't have to work as hard for it?

I'll never understand why people need to "go tell mommy" or "go call the cops" about every little thing. Maybe you should try talking to him first, that is if you feel like you have to tell on him, at least tell him you think its wrong instead of going behind his back.

Its like those neighbors that call the cops instead of coming over to your house and asking for you to turn down your radio. I would have been happy to ablige, I just didn't know it was up so loud and could be heard so well outside the house. Now I will go out of my way to piss the neighbors off because I know who it was who called.

nope... a student's performance level is based on how well he does compared to his pears. Cheating screws over everyone else, not to mention the curve (if there is any).

AMDZen I think the point is that he is some what jealous and 'cheated' that this 'bastage' of a kid cheats and will get high marks WITHOUT PUTTING IN THE WORK. Wheres the OP worked hard and got whatever results good, great or whatever.

I'd feel p!ssed also. But depending on how I did in the test I would be more p!ssed or not bothered.

Just drop off the recording or write a letter and send it in and specifically STATE that THIS GUY copied HER.

Yeah you do. Lots of people cheat through college and got their diploma.

I can't believe the people in this thread that are against narcing. Cheating on a test is against the rules, and if you are the only one with evidence to prove it, you are exactly the person in place to do it.

As for the question, yes there is a curve, and it's set up so that very few students get A's.

I personally wouldn't feel bad about turning his sorry arse in at all, mainly because we all study hard for these tests and he usually just takes the easy way out. he's cheated more than once, hell, probably more than a dozen times.


By the way, I ended up studying really hard and getting a B-.


I also can't find those DJ drivers.

i dunno what i'd really do. the teach will probably figure it out on his own (esp if he and that girl get exactly the same questions wrong - plus, if this is a substantial improvement from his previous tests, red flags will go up)
