I've been seeing lots of threads regarding cats, so lets vote.

Which do you like better, cat or dog?

I hate cats they are dumb.
 
Dogs smell... even right after a bath. They also slobber all over stuff. Besides that dogs are high maintenance. I'll take a cat.
 
Dog owners are not bothered by the smell, drool and general mess since they are very insecure and the attention and affection of even a lowly creature like a dog fills the giant hole in their souls.

Cat owners OTOH aren't such desperate wretches, so cats are perfectly fine pets for them.
 
The OP sounds like the kind of person who pigeon holes himself into only like one animal.

I can live with both but prefer cats due to their low maintenance.

This...

Dogs require a lot of responsibilities. One would get a cat because he/she cannot provide the dog the attention necessary to lead a healthy life.
 
I had two wonderful cats for many years and then a dog. I was of the "cats are better than dogs" persuasion until I got my golden retriever. She's such a wonderful dog, so intelligent and a joy to play with that I can't really say that.

Cats and dogs have their pros/cons. I don't like the notion that cats require less attention, because they really don't. It's just a stereotype that causes many people to ignore their cats. My cats were always around me, always wanting to play and wanting attention.

And to those that say dogs are dirty, I don't see how that's the case at all. We keep our dog clean, and she most certainly doesn't drool. My cats also shed far more than my dog does. As much as I love my cats, the litter box can be pretty nasty at times.
 
fuck this poll!

Cats are awesome because they're independent and untamed. Dogs are smelly and stupid. You have to work to earn a cat's affection but any fool with a doggie treat can become your dogs new best friend.

that said, I do like big dogs (medium to large..) because they're fun to wrestle with.


I only really hate small dogs.
