Wow.

I just had my fourth BsoD since the driver update, on a PC that hasn't had a single one up to this point.

I guess I need to roll back.

What an unbelievable disater 12.2 was for my 5970.

I finally got to try some games, and every single game I tried had some sort of wonkiness (mostly bad stutter). Some games wouldn't show up on screen until I alt-tabbed out of them, and even then they were frozen and required a reload.

I rolled back to 12.1 and the problems are gone.

Whew.

Maybe more 7000 series owners need to test and give input on these,i found them to be incredibly stable with absolutely no problems thus far.

same

you can't use old versions of overclocking software, perhaps people don't realize this. Old afterburner versions will cause you to lock up.

I take it performance drivers are waiting for Kepler or GCN is a b**** to code for😕

I won't be to surprised if AMD releases a new, performance enhanced driver around the kep release. Looks like they would only need 10% more to keep the gpu crown.

7950 owner here.

My only issue with these drivers is my idle temp seems to be slightly higher now.
Before 12.2 my Sapphire 7950 OC would idle around 28-29C. After, 30-33C.

Oh I guess one more issue is my screen flickers a few times when loading a game, but once the game loads and Im in menus/game play, everything runs fine.

Perhaps a tweak or adjustment was done to the powertune settings,rc11 1125 on the core at stock voltage was not possible without artifacts in BF3,after this driver, its more then stable at 1125 and i too noticed a slightly higher idle temp.

Ok, so what's this now?

This morning I turned on my PC before i went to work and I got the message "you have no display driver installed. Please install the appropriate driver for your hardware".

Ok - fine. I downloaded 12.1 and re-installed it, thinking there must have been some sort of glitch.

So I get home tonight, start PC ........ Same message.

What's going on here?

I don't OC, and only have 1 GPU.. but I'm not seeing any problems with these drivers. Is there anyone else who runs stock with a single GPU, and has problems? So far they seem alright here.

Try uninstalling your drivers, restarting in Safe mode, run Driversweeper and remove everything but the 2 directories (your monitor profiles if you have multiple), then restart and install 12.2 or 12.1, whichever you want to use.
If that doesn't fix it you might want to RMA your card or your PSU.

I will do that but this is ridiculous. It has nothing to do with my GPU or PSU - it's all 12.2 related.

I had a hard lock trying to re-install 12.1, but it was successful the second time. Everything worked perfectly on my PC until the second I let the 12.2 install happen.

Wonder why there is so many issues with 12.2?

I just replaced my 4 year old loud slow ass seagate 1.5tb today with a fresh new digital black 1tb for a boot up drive, fresh installment of windows with the addition of a soundblaster xfi titanium, still no conflicts or issues...

I've done some more gaming on 12.2, no issues so far. It's possible since people are noticing higher idle temps on 12.2, they made some changes that are pushing hardware and hardware flaws are being exposed in rigs.
It does seem that a lot of people here are overclocking which is always dangerous and can even end up damaging a card.

Despite my earlier post,i'm with the majority here, these drivers majorly suck.

My issues i thought that had disappeared being my core getting stuck at 501mhz half the time in a game and the hardlocks just randomly started to happen again out of the blue last night, ironically these drivers work at will, nothing more almost like a test of psychological torture.

Sadly rc11 is more stable then any of the 12 series for me,and the failure of ocing drivers,i can't even hold 1125 at stock on the core on rc11,where is the phucking win?:awe:

Went back to rc11.. 12.2 crashed loading bf3 even when not overclocked.

Slightly better 3dmark on the 12.2 (9300). Compared to 8900 with the rc 11.

Flash or youtube throttles the GPU clock down, you probably had a browser window open...or WMP

Nope,no tabs of any kind,i had only msi afterburner 2.2 open with fraps and that was it on my system when i played BC2 and it hardlocked, only time that game hardlocks is when i close it,not a moment sooner, before the desktop comes back i get the blackscreen.

Both BF3 and BC2 lowered my core clock to 501 mhz randomly mid game, before the new hard drive and os reinstall, everything worked fine.

The os reinstall i basically duplicated all the driver versions for my motherboard, the video card and software, even the soundblaster soundcard has the most recent drivers and it seemed to work fine for like a hour or two but i think its a idle issue,if my machine is idle for even a hour, issues arise till i reboot.

Only fix thus far that works is going back to rc11 and ab 2.1...
