Dogs will worship you.
Cats will tolerate you, sometimes.
I had a cat growing up and had a couple more as an adult.
But they all ended up peeing on my carpet.
I have a dog now and prefer them to cats.
But a dog is more work. You can leave cats home alone while you go on vacation for a few days. Can't do that with a dog.
Get a basset. The dog will sleep whenever you are gone and make great pets. If you are still in the IN area, take a look at GABR.Originally posted by: biffbacon

Great dogs. My girlfriend and I adopted Stella through GABR. She has turned out to be the perfect dog for us.Originally posted by: biffbacon

I can't figure out why anyone would get a cat in the first place. Heck, a hamster shows about as much devotion and affection towards it's master as a cat does. A dog though... you're the dog's best friend. A cat doesn't give a sh!t about you, as long as it's got food and a clean litter box.

Cats are 10X easier to take care of and train.

My cats were actually very affectionate. They spent a lot of time wanting to be on my lap and get pet.Originally posted by: DrPizza

Cats aren't trainable.
