Definitely, they need to keep off the roads if there is somewhere else to cycle, or stay to the side, but you still need to be careful.

I've never met one who felt he owned the road. Not only is it illegal for them to ride on the sidewalk, but sidewalks are bumpy/inconsistent and not suitable for riding. I can't imagine you come upon so many cyclists that it actually affects your average day by a significant amount. They are invariably taking up only a foot or two to the side. Let them get their exercise. You should condemn the fat sh*ts driving their vehicles, not the person on the bike who gives a damn about their health.
armatron and SweetUserName how does this sound? The person ridding the bike is ridding over the the far right as far as safely possible or the middle of the lane because the lane is not wide enough but when he or she sees a car coming from behind alerts him or her in the car to know when its not safe to pass and when it is ?
I have been yelled at before as well but the reason I was in the far left lane is because I was turning when the light turned green. I was in the middle of the lane behind a lot oars and other cars behind me.
Heard a lady yell right when the light was already read and I had safety made my change to lanes from the far right to the left because I had to turn.
I hate doing this but its the only way. I can't turn in the far right lane if I want to turn left. That would be very unsafe and not using common sense for sure.
Do you think this was right or wrong? Just asking because I love to get other people's viewpoints and see if I could of done anything better

Cyclers around here generally stay to the side of the road so you can pass them without moving into the other lane. I guess if one was right in front of me and I couldn't pass at the time, I might give him a little beep?

When you see a bicyclist doing 1MPH up a 2 mile long 5% grade, how long do you think I'm going to sit behind them?
Bicyclists seem to definately form a mob mentality when it comes to traffic laws. One alone is usually alright, but get 100 of them together and a well traveled public street becomes thier personal race course.

Then I gotta take a chance. I've not once ever had a bicyclist stop, and move to the side of the road, and let cars by. I have to take the best reasonable opportunity, and make it happen as fast as possible.
Around here, I've had bikers ride in the MIDDLE of the lane at 15 mph and I couldn't pass because it was a double yellow line. They seemed to have absolutely no regard for anyone else but themselves, and they would not move over to the side of the road to allow people to pass. I've seen this very often.
There was even one time when I got sick of driving my car at 15 mph and I passed him anyway, only to have him give me the finger. He was all apologies, however, when I quickly stopped in front of him and pulled him off his bike. It was amazing how polite, courteous, and apologetic he was.

I'd consider it the same thing as when I'm towing and use turnouts to let cars by.
I passed as quickly as possible and got my first and only speeding ticket that way.
I had to pass quickly or I would have been stuck at 10mph with all the traffic on my right catching up. When I passed I got busted doing 54 in a 35. I went to court and got it reduced to no points and $100 fine. It was my only moving violation in 17 years of driving.

If he were riding a candy cane I'd probably knock him off his vehicle and eat it. I'd like to hear him try to explain that to a cop to complain.

Most of the roads around my area are steep and twisty, often there is areas where a car can pull off to the side and let others by. Sometimes they're paved (only on the most major roads), most of the time they aren't.
Wow. I see slow things around here like lawn cutting tractors, etc move in the street all the time and there very slow. They don't do that for the cars here.
Thats the thing I will never get. There is sometimes things on the road that are like cars but go really slow and people really never shout at them or whatever. they just pass them. What if the bike is as wide as a car? I wonder if people would still yell ?
