I like both but carrot cake is my favorite.
Its possible that the carrot cake's true job is to hold up the cream cheese frosting while offering contrasting textures and only mild sweetness though. Cream cheese frosting King of all frostings.
Fondant is the plague infested beggar of all frostings btw. Literally worse than no frosting.
As someone who enjoys eating Carrot Cake I strongly disagree with you.Carrot cake is an abomination towards cakes. I'm not sure what kind of famine the poor fuckers who invented the carrot cake were going through but it must have been brutal for them to look at a bunch of carrots and think "hey, that would be pretty tasty in a cake". How it has lived on while we are in non-famine times is beyond me. Carrots have no place in a freaking cake!!!!
Reduce or eliminate the need to use sugar? And besides carrots are delicious.I'm not sure I've ever actually tasted the carrots in carrot cake. Usually it's just some kind of sweet spice cake with very sweet vanilla icing. Nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, with some very finely shredded carrot tossed in for no apparent reason. It may change the texture a little, but it's mostly needless.
