So I recently had my BP taken and thought it might be interesting to see how everyone else falls as far as normal goes.

My BP is 100 / 65 and my Pulses per Minute are 70. This was after a swimming class.

So, what are ways to further (healthly) lower my Pulses per minute and possibly my blood pressure (not really worried about it) My family has a history of low blood pressure, so I'm not too worried about it, but still I have had it lower in my life (90 / 60 I believe is my lowest).

As well, is this a good reflection of you current cardiovascular health, as well as overall health?

52BPM last time I checked my RHR. It's been a long time since I had my BP checked.

What lowers your pulse rate? Or do some people just have higher pulses.

Don't remember what mine is, but blood pressure is only a relative reflection of cardiovascular health IMO. Obviously anything too high is unhealthy, but once you get below a certain level, it starts to vary depending on genetics and whatnot.

Cardio exercise will lower your blood pressure and increase your cardiovascular health. Period. It will correspondingly lower your heart rate, as your heart gains strength and becomes more efficient (able to circulate more blood with each pump).

I just checked my RHR: 52 BPM as well. I have been as low as 45. Human average is 72.

My blood pressure is not particularly spectacular though: around 118/80 (I believe the average is 120/80).

However, I am fit enough to run a 35 minute 10K at the moment.

I agree with IrishScott - blood pressure is only a small measure of cardiovascular health - the resting heart rate is a better indicator.

Your resting heart rate gives an indication of how efficient your heart is. Blood pressure has a strong correllation to the health of your vascular system. Your recovery heart rate is the best indicator of how well fit/well trained your cardiovascular system is.

75 BPM is my resting heart rate. My blood pressure is probably going to crap soon thanks to genetics *sigh*

57 RBPM. I haven't checked my blood pressure yet. It recovers too fast. When I'm done running doing an HIIT to the point that I feel like just falling down, I feel like doing it all over again in less than a minute, and I have on a few occasions.

My RHR is usually in the mid to low 50s. Don't recall what my blood pressure is, the last time it was taken was when I donated blood last. If I recall, they wrote it on my donor card, but thats in the other room and I just sat down after running a marathon this morning, so I won't be getting up to get it. :p
