When did I ever say that? The OP is very anti-gun so I called him out for attacking the 2nd Amendment.

3 Years is way too much and if they try for it then it's possible the US government will intervene. The guy shouldn't be charged, he was clearly not a threat and is a former soldier. The OP is using this one guy to attack gun owners.

Military service means nothing. He violated the law. A major law when entering a foreign country. And he lied about the fact that he was in violation of that law.

I agree three years may be excessive, but there is no reason for him to walk without facing judgment for his actions. He was in violation of both state and Canadian laws.

Unless you feel crimes committed by gun owners should be ignored. To which there really is no point in discussing further as you've simply rejected the rule of law in favor of what you think should the law should be.

Should the US support me bringing guns into the US?

Please tell me why he should not be charged.

Getting a Form 6 NIA takes months... but you can take handguns. (As long as they aren't Norinco's or other prohibited/tax stamped guns.) For instance, I have a 14" bbl 870 that is unrestricted here but would be a SBR in the USA.

Coming to Canada with a hunting type rifle/shotgun is very easy, just show up at the border and pay 25 bucks for the permit. But, you can't bring your handguns or many restricted/prohibited rifles like the AR-15 without a special permit which you must get ahead of time and it's rarely issued.

Both countries have their own laws and quirks.

Canadians WISH they had a 2nd Amendment, I'd love to own a six shooter or whatever you call them things. We could have gun fights and yell Hee Haw, John Wayne was awesome.

ummm OK...

Ok guys, don't post threads about American's violating another country's fire arm laws. Incorruptible will take that as attacking the Second Amendment.

I own 9 handguns and maybe a dozen rifles and shotguns. But, only with government permission.

Thanks!

I knew it was possible but had no idea on the steps needed.

He's not going to get 3 years. Where do you guys dream up this stuff? That is the max penalty, probably for repeat offenders trying to smuggle in multiple guns. Some drongo dropkick like this idiot will get a fine and a telling off.

In related news, one of the SAFE Act's supporters was just arrested for accidentally carrying a firearm into a school:

He was a well-known face in the movement for the SAFE Act, the state law that made carrying a gun on school property a felony.

...

Ferguson, 52, told WGRZ-TV that he frequently carries the gun, for which he has a permit, and did not realize he had it on him when he went to the school as part of the mentoring program.

Opponents of the SAFE Act repeatedly warned that the law would make felons out of law-abiding citizens. It's ironic that one of its first victims was such an adamant supporter, but still unfortunate that he's facing years in prison for a victim-less strict liability "crime."

OP, are you going to ridicule this poor bastard, too? He committed the same "crime" as the guy who accidentally brought a gun to the Canadian border, but he's a New York elite rather than a stupid redneck Kentuckian.

i must have thrown a fit over the word dependency then. did the queen drop on your head when you were small? or throw a fit about natives. yeah natives have some pretty petty shit that goes on. but people are still racist to them.

How about you do some work on constructing sentences that make sense and then maybe we can have a discussion....

I'm quite sure you know when you're trolling. Chances are the other person will eithrr ignore the attempt or come back with a troll attempt of their own none of which adds to the subject of the thread. Then again this thread was destined to be a troll thread based on the title.

I'm not sure what your issue is.

For some reason you seem to think you have a beef against me.

You came into this thread looking to cause a reaction with your first post.

You then toss in some insults towards me and trash the thread.

I doubt we have anything constructive to say to one another so, have a nice day.

Just pointing out the plain fact that you're as guilty of trolling as either Incorruptible or nehalem256. Though I sure that you feel your trolling is righteous and good.

Fuck yes I will ridicule him. Being a 'responsible gun owner' and 'forgetting' you have a gun on you are mutually exclusive. If anything, Ferguson is worse because he's advocating gun safety and gun control but isn't smart enough or aware enough to follow his own advice. Absolutely he should be charged and punished for carrying a gun into that school.

And thus it all gets around to my point. A lot of people claim that they are responsible gun owners, know the laws and respect the power they have in owning a gun. I beg to differ. Time and time again we've seen that apparently well-meaning people are too goddamn stupid to be walking around with the power to kill.

The 2nd Amendment shouldn't be attacked though. 3 Years is way too much and the charges should be dropped. If they try for 3 years then they could end up losing visitors.

If Canada has to adhere to the 2nd amendment of the US Constitution then you should adhere to sharia law

The guy volunteers his time to mentor children and improve the safety of his community, but you'd ruin his life with a felony conviction because he unintentionally committed a victimless crime. Are you sure you're not a law-and-order Republican?

The only point you've made is that you have an irrational fear or hatred of firearms. Accidental shootings are at historic lows. Violent crime has been dropping for two decades. It's abundantly clear that the overwhelming majority of firearm owners are safe and responsible, and people who "walk around with the power to kill" even more so; CPL holders commit fewer crimes than practically anyone else, including police. Some of them will inevitably do something stupid like accidentally carrying in a prohibited area, but there are much better ways to handle such situations than felony charges.

Let me answer.

I am a gun owner. I concealed carry every day. As I type this I have a Glock 19 loaded with Gold Dot +Ps on my hip. I am the definition of a gun guy/nut/enthusiast. If you do not know where your gun is, you should not own that gun. If you "forget" that you have a gun on you, you should not be carrying that gun. If we follow your logic and the guy "forgot" he had left his gun in his car and one of the kids from the school found it and shot someone, the guy would be innocent. That is not how responsible gun ownership works.

The guy in the OP and the guy from the school both need to be charged with the appropriate felonies. Its because of idiots like them that I can't carry everywhere I want to. Fuck them and I hope they can never touch a gun again for the rest of their lives.

You forgot the last sentence. The one where you tell us how much it scares you and that we've got to do something about it! 295 posts for you to finally get to where most of us knew you were heading anyway.
