When you have 23 tabs open in FireFox and then run a game at the same time...that's when I appreciate my gig o' RAM.

makes quite a difference for me...galaxies runs waaay smoother, as does doom3...and closing large apps is a lot faster, since its not clearing a swap file

As long as you bring gaming in as a legitimate "justification" then most computer upgrades can be justified. But in the end you're just paying hundreds of dollars for 50 dollar games that you play for about a week.

I dont have a point. But when the OP started a thread i had the assumption it would be justifications other than gaming, i.e. work-related applications that require large amounts of RAM.
