Can you "hear" when the TV is on?

I have the same thing. Even when I'm playing a game, like CS. If someone is coming up behind me I always know.

Funny, I never got 3d sound to work with CS. lol, Everything sounded like it came from in front.

Yep. But im also pretty young (18) and i know my parents cant hear it. I know hearing diminishes with age (especially in the higher frequencies), that probably has something to do with it.
